Is anyone here familiar with the various herbs used in traditional Chinese Medicine and their potential toxicity to ferrets? I have a document about phlegm-resolving herbs and am attempting to utilize it to help with a sick ferret.
Thanks!

I would be using a trained herbalist and practitioner of the Chinese healing arts. This is one field that I do not meddle with. There is too much knowledge needed, not just the herbs used on medicinal level but but the vibrations and various reactions on the organs involved. Chinese medicine works on several levels and cannot just be prescribed. A true understanding of the art is required as well. Reading an article and applying it is like reading a chapter on martial arts and claiming to be a black belt ciao

Devil's claw root in the form of a herb is a natural anti inflammatory and painkiller that is safe for ferrets but I don't know if it's Chinese.
