Given cats are obligate carnivores just like ferrets, raw is best by far. That way you control what they eat.

I'm assuming that some ferret kibbles have got rice in too so I'm glad that I feed mine raw and whole prey and not kibble.
Just an update for anyone who feeds their furbabies kibble, the nutritional value in James Welbeloved Ferret Food has decrease loads since May 2014 because the company that makes mars bars and milky ways have taken over that pet food company, if your ferrets eat this and they are underweight or overweight then this is the reason why.

Along with rice a heck of a lot of kibbles contain sugar beet pulp ( including james welbeloved )there are so many additives they look great to a human things like kelp blueberries even peas all a big no no to cats and ferrets ! take care bye for now Bev
