So Kasper and Ghost are Brothers Born 9/13/15 according to Marshalls however they are very small. Today's Weigh in: Ghost 14.1 oz Kasper 1.0 lb Today I started them on soupie they would not start off on chunks I tried. So we had Soupie in with shreds of meat. This is what I used (I have had a Hard time finding Heart in my area so I have 3 Venison Hearts coming tomorrow with Venison meat as well.from a Local Hunter) This is all x2. Because I have 2 Kits. 8oz raw chicken thigh meat 1 oz raw chicken Liver 1 oz Raw Chicken Gizzard 3/4 Crushed Egg shell They started eatting it right away. I also would be putting soaked kibble in the cage so it's wet too so no digestion issues. Between the Two just until I get the heart home and added to the mixture. Ghost Kasper Soupie. They are eatting it put of the bowls because they tried to swim in a plate and where wrestling in it.

I have queating regarding diet for my boys. I have to order Bone meal but I have been using egg she'll my question is I have it crushed very small but it's not owner is that ok? I feel like it doesn't mix well and they don't eat it ad much as they should.
Also they have been on soup since Wednesday. How long do I do soup before starting chunks etc.
As far as organs go. I need to do 2 different kinds I can just use Liver of different animals. I ask cause I can find liver but I can't find other organs. Heart is proving hard enough to find. So far Venison is all I got.

How long do I do soup before starting chunks etc. Read more: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/19493/kasper-ghost-unofficial-switching-thread#ixzz3rahpa2J5U do not have to wait to try anything. Go for it. sometimes if chunks r too big, just cut it a little smaller. U may want to hide them in soupie or just go ahead and try without soupie. u don't need organs of two different animals---just 2 organs ---the liver and some other organ. But if you can get them and rotate, that would be good. I just use lamb kidney and liver most the time---little chicken sensitivity here. Venison heart is good. Also helpful, when feeding chicken, u can use the thighs and legs to get more taurine than breast.

The soupie has chunks interested but I usually find the chunks left in the bowl and they eat around them.
I'm having a hard time find more organs. They have liver here. I spoke to someone whom butchers beef and she said she can ask there butcher to save the kidneys or Pancreas or brain but she can't guarantee He will. Because that stuff is normally taken elsewhere or tossed or whatever. I'm hoping she can get me something all the stores here sell is Liver I have called many places I even Google markets and butchers and everything but Noone has those things. Heart I managed to find through hunters cause it's that season.

Are they small as pinkie fingernail? if so, and refusing---half or quarter that .
I am transitioning a boy and just cut up a heart in his soupie ( it already had heart---but was doing a test). He left the bits that were size of fingernail of ring finger, but ate the smaller ones.
Don't fill plate so much with soupie at first when u start to feed but still have your bits in---- like put in a tablespoon or so of soupie with some bits. may or may not work ----stubborn ferrets;)

The Chunks are smaller but vary in size cause my little food bullet doesn't blend well I need to buy a Coffee grinder and a Blender. Both of which I have never had a need for til now. The soup is very thick. I would say the meat is more like shreds I feel like I used more Heart than needed. I used 2 oz per ferret but it took half a small Deer heart. People say 1 to 2 chicken hearts and 4 chicken hearts total wouldn't have equaled the size of the Deer heart. I went my what my scale said. I hope it measuring right.

if you used more heart than needed, it is ok. Taurine goes out in the pee. Does not collect in liver like vitamin A.(if that is what you r worried about)
It probably is a good thing blender it isn't grinding to a paste.
Do you think that they would eat more of the meat if in a little flat plate with a less liquid? ( of course keep the liquid and give them to it to them as they eat the meat).
Sometimes ideas work and sometimes they don't ://

The bowl is less messy. Maybe now they know it's food they won't play in it. I'll give it another try.

Oh, I usually have mine on the floor with me sitting with them as they eat and a sheet on floor. I just got a 20 month old boy. I am having to finger feed him. He had egg yolk tonight. He would not eat it unless I finger fed him. It got messy. He refused the Soupie rat earlier. I had to finger feed him that ---- yuk:/
You r doing great. Don't worry

Well switching is going good. I have Thickened the soup a bit. It's more of a Ground beef consistancy. They are still leaving the chunks. I have to get wing tips and necks. I have more heart and Kidneys coming next week too.
They so Far like Chicken, Turkey, Venison and Beef so I don't think I'll have a issue with using different meats. They are gaining weight great.
Ghost is 2 lbs 3.5 oz Kasper is 2 lbs 7.6 oz

Ok so Tonight we tried turkey neck (I crushed the bones a Bit and added chunks of heart and liver. Seem to like it
My question is do I continue the soupie or do I just start the Bone in meals etc. And when on Bone in meals. Do I need to do the Crushed Egg shells.
If I use 2 bone in meat is that ok or do I need another? I have turkey right now but that because of the holiday. I have Chicken Thighs and Wings Cornish Game Hen Turkey Necks (does this count ad Bone in Protien???
