If you take a stool sample in, will the vet do a fecal without an office visit?

If you take a stool sample in, will the vet do a fecal without an office visit? Not sure but we can ask her since she knew he was sick the other day. Below is a pic of just nows after dinner - 4 hours

Just thinking 'out loud'... His food hasn't changed except in size. He's had some normal poops between the last bout of diarrhea and this one. Is there any chance the food might have soured? For neither of the boys to eat it when they have been loving it seems fishy and then these poops... I think I would ask about a fecal to rule out a bacterial infection.

Or possibly an ulcer... (That would not be determined by a fecal) The stress of a new brother, throwing up, the fish mouth, the funky poops... Possibly an ulcer.

What is the treatment for an ukcer? We lost Bella they think due to an ulcer so that is a little scary....she was lethargic high fever with our pet sitter in our house while we were on vacation
No the food was not spoiled.....it is very odd though

Antibiotics and a tummy coating med like carafate. If it were a gastric ulcer though, there would be blood in the stool and there's not. And he's not grinding his teeth, is he, just the fish mouth?
I don't remember, has he eaten lamb before? If yes and you have some, maybe try making him a little soup with that. It seems to be easy on the tummy..
How is activity? Still playing good?

Activity is really good, playing, dooking....no he is not grinding his teeth, no fish mouth in 2 days. The only difference besides Jax this week is we gave turkey for the first time.....earlier this week then this morning. Tonight switched to beef to see if they'd eat, normally wouldn't change protein in the week but since they didn't eat good thought we'd try. We have been extra loving on Gomez so he knows Jax is ok and so is he. Do you think he could bed allergic to turkey? ?? No we haven't tried lamb yet, dud lamb riblets but have tried like 1 and he basically just licked it.....I could get sinew tomorrow.

Ah ha! The turkey... I checked back in the thread. Earlier this week when he had the funky poops, he had had turkey. Give him a few days for his tummy to settle and then we'll try turkey once more. If the poops happen again, we'll know it's the turkey. (This is exactly the reason for the food journal.) Don't worry about the lamb for right now. I really think it's the turkey.
Can you post a picture of their chunks in the morning so I can get a sense of how big they are?

While fixing breakfast took a pic with just a little chunks (not all yet on the plate as I wanted you to get a good view). We were doing larger but they will not eat them and you know about the strips. BOTH boys ate great this morning....with more soupie

I assume that's a saucer, not a dinner size plate. Those are bigger than I was imagining. Is Jax eating those now too?
