So while this cat, was not one I personally owned his death still made me quite sad. You see Prince was one of 5 kittens born to my older Bengal Cleo, his brother and sister Mason and Patches stayed with us while Prince went to one of my sisters and the fourth went to another sister (I have a lot of sisters). Now when they were born I was the first to be there, this was a week before my parents were away on holiday and I was there every hour I could spare, caring for the four living kittens (the fifth passed at birth) and I continued in this fashion until they were old enough to be separated and though I didn't see him as often in the following years I still regarded them all as special to me as this was one of the best things I had ever gotten to do (there's a lot to be said about helping raise new born animals).
Unfortunately Prince became sick, (suspected to be pancreatitis) and over the course of three days deteriorated until there was no choice but to put him down. My sister and niece are both heart broken (and broke financially after vet bills) and I wanted to say a few words about him. A gentle giant among cats he doted on my niece and although he was known to be a little food thief he had all the love in the world, he passed too soon at the age of three and will be forever missed, not just by his immediate family but those of us who worried through every minute when they were kittens.
So RIP Prince, I'm glad you no longer suffer, though you are gone far too soon.
