So I have my ferret Tiberius, but I also have a cat, two box turtles, two aquatic turtles, a cat and a lizard. So here we go. This is my Chinese Box Turtle (Cuora flavomarginata), Gamora. My other Chinese Box Turtle, Voldemort. He was named for his shell. The pet store I got him from had him on discount because someone (His breeder) didn't raise him properly. He had metabolic bone disease and it disfigured his shell. He can't go all the way in like other box turtles and the scutes flake in places. So far he's lived a pretty healthy life with me aside from him just being a little bit dopey. I actually don't have pictures of both of my aquatics. I don't like to take them out of the tank because they are a very skittish breed. They are Northern Black Knobbed Sawback Map Turtles (Graptemys nigrinoda). This picture is of the female, Xena. But I have a male named Leonidas that looks similar but is much smaller. (Females are always bigger). This is my Steppe Runner lizard, Dimitri. And finally, my cat, Juliet.

Nice terps. We really miss our wild ones. Juliet is a pretty kitty. We just found out last week that it's illegal to keep turtles as pets in Tennessee. What?

I hope you will Lettuce know. My attempts at guessing are Fruitile but I'm guessing on the Fly that I would think if they were teenagers and had ninja skills, they would like pizza... These jokes are Fishy and it's way too early for Snail humor. None of these are Eggscellent, I just calls them as I Calcium. I'm Worming my way out of here now... (shy)

Cute little 2012 article (giggle)The TWRA says they aren't interested in prosecuting anyone. Mr. Cook hopes people will donate their current turtles to one of Tennessee's wildlife education facilities. That just strikes me as funny. They should go out and get their own turtles, you know? And turtles are so common in Tennessee who is going to want to see them at an education facility? Do they really think people are going to surrender their turtles? Will they have a turtle amnesty period? Oh, they also say that turtles donated to the wildlife education facilities "will be kept in a closed habitat to reduce the risk of spreading the deadly bacteria." According to Mr. Cook, "We just don't want anybody to get sick." THEY'RE TURTLES! THEY'RE FRICKING TURTLES! Sorry, but he makes it sounds like they are aliens from another planet. tnpetlawnews.blogspot.com/2012/08/if-you-live-in-tennessee-hide-your.html

I don't ever recommend taking a turtle from the wild. It's extremely stressful for them and many don't survive. A good pet turtle needs to be a captive bred turtle that has grown up with people.
Also, my turtles are mostly carnivores, eating insects and a commercial pellet diet. As they grow, they will start to eat more vegetable matter, as the protein is mostly to encourage growth in a young age.
