So I had Minx spayed just over a week ago. Anyway, for a couple for days after that I kept her indoors with me, I the scrubbed and disinfected the top half of the hutch and she's now out there but I still keep her separate from Jinx as I don't want them to pay rough and pull the stitches or something and I haven't let her and Poro anywhere near each other as he's grown quite a bit and if she gets rough with him he may get rough with her. She's getting plenty of attention from me, but not a lot of interaction with the others, am I being too over protective? Also, does this look like its healing ok? I guess I'm just being paranoid but I have no idea what I should be looking out for, she seems ok, there's no tenderness and no smell so no infection that I am aware of. Those stitches look a little loose to me but I'm not vet so I have no idea...

You r doing fine. I would still keep her away from other ferrets. The bottom and top looks like it could stand for some more healing. (will let others weigh in who have spayed their ferrets)

You did the right thing. At the clinic I worked at, we didn't recommend leaving recently operated ferrets play with others. She is healing great by the way, nothing to worry. I don't know if its the photo, but does the bottom wound open? if not, she's fine! if its open and not healing you'll have to go back to the vet.
I don't think they would stitch it, maybe just put some operation glue on it or something (Sometimes when we operated males we wouldn't stitch it and just glue the skin with the special operation glue. It just healed faster and better). But I wouldn't worry about it if there is no infection. I think you should wait until all the stitches have fallen off before letting her play with other ferrets!

I think its just the photo, I had a look today and I think its just a bit of dried scabby stuff. Its good to know I'm not being overly protective by keeping her apart from the others for now.
