So, I know that I constantly worry about my little wisp, but I was cleaning her litter box today and her poop was like a metallic gold color, like the color of those gold gell pens. She is completely healthy as of last week. She acts normal and so on. The only thing that has changed is she has been eating feline natural freeze dried raw food (chicken and rabbit formula) instead of that mixed with the Vinson along with the turkey formula. The store was out of the others so she is stuck eating the rabbit kind until they get more in stock later this week. I wouldn't have thought that it would have upset her stomach because it has been all mixed together. I also have to add a raw egg (shell and all) due to the lack of bone, but she has eaten raw egg once a week for a while now so that shouldn't have upset her stomach either. So I'm kinda puzzled as to what caused the golden poo. It was formed and all, but softer than usual. I took a picture of it but I don't know how to post it on here. Any ideas?

Sorry for sounding stupid but none of that makes any sense to me about how to add a picture. Can I email it and someone who knows how to do it could post it?

Oh ok cool that makes sense. In that case I THINK it looks ok considering what you've been feeding her but I'm not an expert so hopefully someone used to these kinds of poops can tell you more affirmatively xx

What had me concerned is that it was so shiny, but it truly was formed. I just dumped her litter box and saw it. (Hints the clump of pee paper to the left) But I guess since her food wasn't mixed like it usually is, it might have made a difference. I don't know, but she is being a brat and acting her normal self.

Definitely changing the way the food is mixed will make a difference to the poop they produce xx

Yeah. I have to order her favorite food from now on because the store is no longer going to carry the venison type anymore. But it's not a big problem, I just have to let them know to order it. I was able to get the lamb flavor for this week because she really doesn't care for the rabbit. And I can't stand the smell of it, plus having to add egg shells because it lacks bone. She has been settling into her new cage with tons of new toys. Haven't had any more gold poos though. It was so strange.

I'm glad to hear she's doing well and you're able to get her back on the food she's used to. Maybe the gold poop was a bit like the goose that laid the golden egg... xx
