I am glad you think its funny haha. But it was awful she was in her cage sleeping and I walked in my room and she had just pooped and it was like holy cow that came out of that little thing lol. Anyways the menu is working well. I am really happy about it. No problems what so ever. Even though I didnt think there would be. You have been such a huge help. I havent told you but thank you so much for helping me I have really enjoyed everything. I have seriously learned so much. I think when I get my next ferret I should be able to switch by myself. I am pretty excited.

I'm sorry for laughing. Egg poops really are terrible and I guarantee I don't laugh when I have to actually smell them. It just struck me funny because my husband had just called me at work and said the exact same thing. I answered the phone and the first thing I heard was him exclaiming at the ferrets. "Oh my gosh, guys! You are RANK today!" They had egg for breakfast too. I'm glad everything has gone so smoothly for you. Does that mean you feel ready to graduate now?

Organs are not her favorite thing either, so she's very likely holding out to see what you will give her next.
I'll get your 'final exam' ready as soon as I get a chance. School just started back, so I'm pretty busy right now but I'll get to it before the weekend is over. You will need to answer a few questions about the basics of the diet and post a final menu for submission.

At this point I know it says am pm for the menu but as long as she eats her organs does it matter what time I feed the hen as long as she gets it tonight? Does that make sense?

No, it doesn't matter what time you feed, just keep approximately 12 hours between meals. Her organ meal should be the same amount as every other meal she eats. If she's eating 2 oz meals regularly, then yes, she should have 2 oz of organs at a meal, but if her appetite has decreased and she's eating less than 2 oz per meal, then decrease her organ meal also.

Can you explain better on the 12 hour thing? She didnt eat all of her organs when I was ready to feed her the gch so I just put a wing in there with the organs and they both were eaten. Was that not a good thing?

Meals are just generally served 12 hours apart. If you added more and she ate everything, that's fine.

So I wanted to bath shelby for the first time with ferret shampoo. I found this marshals ferret shampoo with tea tree oil and spearmint. Its supposed to deter fleas and ticks and what not. I was wondering what you thought on this shampoo. Reason I wanted this shampoo is my roommates have dogs and they have had fleas before like a couple weeks ago. Anyways I wanted to use this as a preventative and it sounds good for their fur and what not.

Don't use anything with tea tree oil. It is an essential oil that is toxic to cats and ferrets. If she has fleas, use either advantage or revolution for cats. Disregard the dosing instructions and just use 2 drops between her shoulders whenever you see evidence of fleas. Honestly though, on the rare occasion that one of mine has a flea, I know it has come from the dog so I treat the dog and then I don't need to treat the ferrets.
If you absolutely have to bathe Shelby, use a mild baby shampoo or oatmeal shampoo. Unless she's gotten into something that won't come off with a water bath, she really doesn't need a bath.

The only reason why I was going to bathe her is because I am getting another little ferret tomorrow and I read integrating them that if they smell the same then its easier to have them get along. Also I was going to ask you before I dont have your expertise anymore is with the new ferret being about 4 monthes old a little younger than shelby. Anyways do you think shelby would kind of lead the way and help with the switch? Are ferrets like that and they watch others do it so they want to try it. Kind of like dogs? What did you when you do when you brought a kibble fed ferret into a raw fed house?
