Came home a while ago I'd say 1/4 of the un-oiled side was eaten. Don't think Mia ate but Rumi did for sure (had a huge stool passage), Some of the fish oiled side was eaten very small amount of say 1/6 to 1/8. Also Emil when I scruff him his skin is slightly slow to go back to place...I believe that's a lack of hydration correct? - Devan

Emil might be slightly under-hydrated, how are his gums? If they are dry and/or sticky then you definitely need to get some liquids into him. I would recommend making a broth (very runny soup) with a bunch of fish oil and have him eat it. Try holding him on your lap and spoon feeding. If he won't go for that then you can put a little oil on the top of a dish of water - the oil will spread around the entire surface and trick him into thinking it's a big bowl of oil and he'll lap it right up Speaking of, in their cage do they have a water bottle or a water bowl? Since bottles are designed for smaller animals like rats, ferrets cannot get enough hydration from bottles. You can buy bowls that lock to the cage so they cannot be flipped. Plus that makes it easier to give them fresh water every day Either way, with any of your guys that don't seem to be eating much, spoon feed them on your lap at least 2-3 times per day and make sure they have a few spoonfuls before you let them down. Of course if they're actually hungry they will probably get impatient and bypass the spoon in favour of the bowl. This is a photo of me spoon feeding Mocha (although for the sake of the shot she is sitting on my counter instead of my lap).

Quick question is gizzard an acceptable muscle? We can only get hearts with gizzards and sadly there more gizzards then hearts.. - Devan

Hehehe. Gizzards are a great muscle! They are good for cleaning teeth and building jaw muscle. Duck gizzards are one of the meats my girls will fight over

So it is acceptable? Sweet also got Emil eating a bit without making him, Noa is curious but probably won't. Mia doesn't seem to like it solid...but she runs off when I make her eat. - Devan

Yup, gizzards are great! I'm glad to hear everyone is eating. I'm assuming they're still getting soup as their main diet?

I wish I could just call it would be so much easier lol. It's definitely safe to say they all know its food though Emil and Noa won't eat from their bowl and Noa only partially eats what I give her but they know and they'll eat it Noa is adapting well too she doesn't immediately go for a drink of water anymore! -Devan

Lol, when I said "soup" I meant the "blend" of everything together, as opposed to chunks of gizzard. It's a great snack, but not balanced on it's own if someone happened to be eating just that. Depending on how heavy duty your grinder is, you might be able to substitute half the chicken thigh in the recipe for gizzards, although they're quite tough and rubbery. I am out of town until tomorrow so am typing everything on a teeny tablet, but as soon as I get back we can put together a plan to start working all your guys up to chunks and then bones

Oh then yeah there eating the "soup" I can replace thigh with gizzards? But what about the lack of fat? I know skin and inner muscle has fat.. Is there a substitute I'm not aware of? O-0 and ok have fun on your trip!

That's why I said up to half. It is quite lean, but thigh is pretty fatty. You can add in extra fat with salmon oil.
