Though I would move to a more approprate thread for this topic! haha
So Just and update on them
Today there was less fighting but more hissing from both parties?
Today was the first time I have ever heard Lafie hiss, so it was weird. He was circling the crate herman was chilling in (no door on it, just a blanket inside because herman feels safer). Herman has done some hissing when Lafie attacks him ( he normally hisses right after or if he thinks hes about to get bitten)
Im not sure what it means that lafie is hissing?
No blood no poo no pee so I let them hang out for a very long time today but eventually herman was looking at me like he really wanted to sleep so I put him in the safety of his closed cage.
But Lafie left herman alone a lot more today and like I dont seprate them anymore ( i watch them really closely to see if I see any blood or anything haha) so im hoping to have them friends eventually
Also! I ended up not being home for a day and my babies ate all there food (Which my brother was suppose to make sure was full x-x) But as it turned out that was kinda helpful because I got them to eat food together for a while out of the cages, I put a plate on the floor and food on it. At first Lafie would take some and run with it but soon they were nibbling together.
They seem to be getting more friendly, going nose to nose and stuff with nothing.
Lafie does this weird like, rolling thing? like he rolls on him when hes harassing Herman? Like he doesnt think he can get a bite so he pushes his body to his? Is that normal? lol its like hes rubbing himself to herman or something haha
Either way a good day, plan to put them, in the same cage tomorrow to see if I can force friendship a little ( after some playing out side the cage)
Any tips or ideas would be awesome! Also lafie isnt pulling out huge chunks of hair anymore haha

Woohoo! Sounds like they are doing great together! Hissing can mean a few things, normally it is a warning but sometimes ferrets make noises inappropriately, if Laffie has only heard Herman hissing when he has been playing with him and Laffie has never hissed before this then he may think he is inviting Herman to play, or maybe he wants to be in the carrier himself and is warning Herman out lol. It's great though if Herman is not reacting to it and Laffie is just going on to another thing. They are doing great. I'm glad Herman will not be a bald ferret because of Laffie hehe. When you cage them together will you still be in the same room or within earshot of them?

I think Lafie might be trying to get herman to play with him because he doesnt really seem like hes being aggressive and he hissed at me! Even though I was just sitting haha ( I pushed him over and played with him and he bounced around so I dont think he gets hissing yet) Herman is deaf so he has no Idea what Lafie wants from him but hes making it clear he doesnt like the roughness and pretty much only bites him when he is bitten first ( he doesnt care if lafie lays on him or hug/tackles him much) I will be in the room the entire time, If anything went south I wouldnt want to be to far away from them. Im hoping to let him out for a hour or two then try an hour or two in the cage together and see how it goes. I think lafie is very hyper and really wants to play but herman is just so mellow and such he doesnt quite want to play with him yet haha. He rather waddle around and explore the room. hopefully they find a happy middle though

I've seen that maneuver used a lot when fighting > Sometimes the aggressor will walk sideways into the victim, and try to get on top. You get hyper ferts, and mellow ferts. Yoshi is always looking bored, like he wants to play, but when i get him going, even dooking and dancing, he only lasts a couple minutes.

Your boys are working on becoming friends. That's great. My Mika is a big time hisser. She just loves to hiss. She hisses to invite play and that confuses the others. All except Keller who is deaf and doesn't understand any ferret social signals.
Both Roamy and Mika use the shoulder nudge quite often. I've watched it when they are trying to get Keller to play.
Lafie sounds like he is doing the alligator roll. They usually do that during play, to get their friend to release them, when their friend is holding on with a bite. Maybe Lafie is hoping that Herman will grab onto him.
The boys are just too cute. They seem like two year old toddlers who are learning how to play together. (dance)

So I dont think today went so well.
They started off fine and it looked like Lafie was more into playing and such and herman didnt care much for it. But by the end of it they were both hissing, lafie finally walked away and herman was shaking?
I mean lafie did a little war dance thing at one point but still. He also kept like trying to get under herman or something? He was being weirder then normal lol.
Herman was really unhappy and he was in a corner kinda area (not backed all the way in the corner though) But he was shaking kinda bad at the end of it when lafie walked away. I didnt see any blood or bathroom but he was really shaking. I cuddled with him for a while before I let him go back in his cage were he curled up in his little hut thing.
Im not sure but it just seemed really rough? I know there was some face bites ( not sure if all were on perpous though) and stuff, and yah just seemed more aggressive

Mine have days where they don't seem to get on so well but then they are ok the next day Pinky learned to hiss from Yuki, but does it when she can't move a stuck toy, or if I don't pick her up when she wants to be, lol.

Ah, yah today went a lot better, I think Lafie is getting that sometimes he is just to much for herman. And watching them It doesnt really look like lafie is bitting him very hard anymore ( sometimes he just has his mouth open and like puts it to herman and herman squeaks about it haha)
I feel like today was really good, they had some fun i think. They were drinking water from the playroom water bowl together and Lafie tryed to groom herman a little ( It was really cute at first I though lafie was gonna bite him in he cheek lol)
There wasnt anything that bad today so I fell like it was a good day for them! Though Herman doesnt seem like he is very playful? He seems like he rather just wander around the room haha or hid his head in my pants leg

To much face biting today x-x
For some reason when herman is hiding under the ferret nation cage lafie feels the only place to bite him is right in the face =-=''
I need to make it so they cant get under there... I know herman feels safer but face biting doesnt seem safe at all.
