How do they know to come? Do they just see u and come or do you call them They're pretty used to a schedule by now. Morning and evening feedings. Sometimes they will float around near our bank all day, but they have access to 3 ponds. We don't get every turtle every time, but we have regulars. We've only seen Momma and Sheldon, regulars for almost 3 years, a couple times this spring. We suspect Momma doesn't like crowds and may even be jealous. She used to be Old Faithful, never missing a feeding. But she disappears for 2-3 months during winter. This year it was over 4 months. We think she and Sheldon, her beau, have moved to the small pond on the other side of the house. We haven't tried feeding any terps in that pond. Every time we try, whatever terps are there go under.
