They may not like their litter box. When I had my first ferret, I had great difficulty getting her to use the litter box (one of the triangle-shaped corner boxes). Eventually I decided to get a much larger litter box: One made for small cats, cut to fix the cage. It worked out to take the entire width of the cage and I cut it short enough to fit underneath the shelf on that side of the cage. It worked great after that and she used it much more reliably.
You may also need to teach them to use the litter box by keeping some of their droppings and dirty litter in the back of the litter box so they notice that's where it is supposed to go. When you're spending time with them and they look like they're about to back into a corner and go, if you're quick, you can gently pick them up and set them in the litter box. If possible, keep putting them in the box when they wander out until they go to the bathroom. Then give them praise and maybe even a treat to reward them. Be aware that ferrents have said their ferrets learned to pretend to use the litter box to get treats, so if you do this, make sure you observe them really using it.
When cleaning up their mistakes, make sure to clean it really well because if it smells like their waste, they will be more inclined to go bathroom there again. Just be careful to use pet safe cleaners. Some people use vinegar, I usually just used hand soap and wiped the soap residue really well. I sometimes followed up with a wipe down of rubbing alcohol, which evaporates quickly and leaves no residue. Veterinarians use rubbing alcohol to sterilize surfaces, and my vet assured me it's safe. Ferrets are usually repulsed by the strong smell, but make sure they don't come into contact with it before it evaporates.

Get a larger NON-CORNER box (those are way to small, even the large ones) and put it in the corners they are currently making a mess of. You might have to secure the box in someway to prevent them from moving it.

This thread might also help. It's called litter box boot camp: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/108/litter-box-boot-campAs for fleas, get a flea comb and check them regularly. It's not safe to use a over the counter flea medicine, we've seen too many problems with them. Ask at your vet's office. Most vets don't even need an appointment, just ask at the counter.
