Oh wow it's been so long since I've posted on the actual forum. Uni, work, and mentoring keeps me busy though. Well here's an update.... When I was little I had two tarantulas: Rickey and Lucy. I loved them a lot, but my parents accidentally killed Lucy and Rickey died a few years back of old age. I'm happy to say I got back into keeping tarantulas and I'm now the proud mama of 3 eight legged babies. Theres: FiddlesticksA. seemanni (Costa Rican Zebra) gyazo.com/7c4577c99cb95d6927f07b407807534fFiddle enjoys hiding in her cave and running away from me frantically. Shelly
G. porteri (chilean rose) gyazo.com/a1c9e26fab82b15a26de177d77145363Shelly is a sweet and calm little lady. She can tackle a cricket in a second though! Needle
A. versicolor (antilles pinktoe) gyazo.com/272612bf93b7da018fea95653a458326gyazo.com/7c0101173ef3292d47b0614a94a64e7fNeedle is my newest baby and is literally a teeny little baby. I don't know a gender yet so I switch between pronouns quite often. Yesterday she killed a cricket that was a little bigger than her (I pulled the legs off so he wouldn't hurt her) and I was thoroughly impressed.

Awww Needles is cute. I like looking at spiders and tarantulas but could never own one or hold one. I think they are really pretty and interesting but have a bit of a mental block when it comes to getting hands on.

I thought that whip scorpions and vinegaroons were the same thing? That is a cute scorpion though! If I got a centipede i probably wouldnt handle it because they scare me too! They're so neat looking though

Awwww, I love tarantulas! They used to set up dens in my yard, and I'd bring them cockroaches and crickets to eat. If I found one roaming around I used to catch it, hold it, feed it, and release it. I've always found insects and arachnids really interesting. Right now I'm raising a batch of praying mantises, they're still in the egg case at the moment. I'm going to keep a few and let the rest go in the yard. Anyway, your fuzzy spiders are beautiful!

Vinegaroons are whip scorpions. My damon diadema and tailless whip scorpions (or whip spiders). I know it can get confusing. I should just stick with scientific names. My vinegaroon is a mastigoproctus giganteus. Here is a pic of her. s833.photobucket.com/user/ctam12345/media/Invertebrates/bugs003_zpse4ea886b.jpg.html?sort=4&o=19And D. diadema s833.photobucket.com/user/ctam12345/media/DSCN2414_zpsgdxaijvu.jpg.htmlAren't they the cutest! Lol, I know most people don't think so (most people are actually terrified of them) but I absolutely love them. FerretnFalcons, you live where there are tarantulas? I'm jealous. There are no tarantulas here. Haven't seen many cool looking bugs at all. I have a couple of phyllocrania paradoxa. The male matured a couple weeks ago and my female just matured a couple days ago. I cant wait for babies!

Beautiful spiders (makes me miss mine, haha)! I used to have an A. versicolor male, but he passed last year to age, I wish the males didn't age so drastically! Oh I love that lovely baby blue, though <3 It's so cool to see the colors change as they grow 8) I love Fiddlesticks! Just gorgeous Your rose is a stunner, too <3

@littleweasels theyre gorgeous! @perocore thank you so much! Yeah I had B. smithi male and he passed awhile ago to old age. I'm hoping my versicolor is a female, but if not I'll try to find someone with a lady versi. My rose is the sweetest thing! My OH actually held her the other day after I did this:| gyazo.com/c4a4fb9d4b050842fc233975def56270he said if she can go on your face and not bite you then it's very unlikely she'll bite my hand. and here's a vid of her eating. Shes got a hearty appetite! Never refused a cricket so I'm sure I'll have to keep an eye on her weight. www.facebook.com/video.php?v=752229701560001&l=538936710620337606

They're very handsome and adorable (shh...don't tell them that, they're sure they are very fierce Tar).
One of our local Petco's has a beautiful tarantula and right next to her/him is a tiny kingsnake. The snake is madly in love with the tarantula and keeps escaping into her cage. The employees have given up trying to separate them and the king just comes and goes as he pleases. I told the manager that she needs to sell them together. You can't break up true love. (giggle)
