I unfortunately wasn't really keeping track very well when I was sick. :\
I suspect that when I get home most of breakfast will be gone, so I'll give them a little bit more chunky porkchop with lunch when I get home and see how much they eat between then and playtime tonight.

Between the soup, slivers and water, 244g was consumed at breakfast. About 12g of slivers were left over of 24g total slivers served. So we're at like 50% right now on non-soup food.
I'm worried about their teeth since they don't get any crunchy food. How do I brush?? D:
I served a small "lunch" a couple minutes ago: Bowl = 166g Meat = 55g Water = 32g Slivers = 20g (porkchop) Total weight = 273g

Plenty of people use toothpaste from a pet store with a tiny tooth brush or gauze. You can also use an oil they like, like salmon oil and some ground eggshell with some gauze. Here is the toothpaste everyone loves oxyfresh.com/pet/pet-gel-healing-cream.asp but once they get onto bone, they shouldn't need teeth brushing. Keep pushing those slivers, you guys are doing great!

Last night at playtime, I served the pork soup I made on the 19th with added water: Bowl: 139g Meat: 81g Water: 31g Slivers = 0g (this was just a quick in-between snack meal) Total weight = 251g Final weight = 139g Total consumed = 112g For dinner we had more pork soup! Bowl: 140g Soup: 80g Water: 25g Slivers: 24g (porkchop) Total weight = 269g Final weight = 164g Total consumed = 105g This morning I finished off the pork soup: Bowl 1: 120g Soup: 79g Slivers: 11g Water: 45g Total weight = 255g Bowl 2: 116g Soup: 54g Slivers: 12g Water: 26g Total weight = 208g

Are the slivers being eaten consistently? Weights look good for what is being eaten.

They seem to eat about half. Most of what gets left behind is slivers. :\

What is the sliver to soup ratio?

It averages about 1 part slivers to 8 parts soup, not including the water I add when I serve it.

We definitely need to start upping it. Because they have the option of getting full on other stuff why bother with the slivers. We want them to eat the slivers to get full also.

What ratio do you recommend?

Also, isn't this going to affect their nutrition? Should I be including chopped hearts & livers? What about bone?

In the long run, yes, that would affect their nutrition but to get them started it isn't going to cause any deficiencies, it takes a while for those things to appear. Much longer than a normal switch would take. If for some reason it does take that long to switch we can talk about ways to include more liver and heart but for now, lets focus on the slivers of meat.
Since they were on 20 grams or so of slivers and went down to ten, lets get them back up to 20, then increase a little every day, you can do 5 to 10 grams a day, just make sure to keep pushing them forward. If at any point they stop eating a lot, you can stop adding for a day or two and let them get used to the amount.

Okay, sounds good! I'm about to serve up dinner so I'll do 20g of slivers and 60g of soup, plus a little water. That way they'll have to eat some slivers..!!

Don't be afraid to encourage them with a little hand feeding to get them started if you need to. Let us know how it goes.

Okay, we made some progress. I was getting really frustrated with them leaving slivers behind, so yesterday I gave them their breakfast as usual, fed them "lunch" immediately after I got home, but did NOT give them food during playtime (just a few hours later). Then I gave them a generous amount of soup and slivers at dinner that night. This morning, 1g of food was left over - 3 slivers of skirt steak. They of course still got the same amount of food as usual, just over 3 meals instead of 4.
