Usually how I've been packaging the hate today bags into smaller portions I don't have enough towards the end of a Tupperware for a full meal so it is usually half of one protein mixed with half of another (or some mixed proportion) so it's is somewhat abrupt but not cold turkey. Should I spread it out a little longer than a meal?

What I found triggered boris less was do do say, a couple of lamb meaks. Next meal would be 3/4 lamb, 1/4 goat. Next half and half , then 3/4 goat 1/4 lamb. Finally all goat for a couple meals and the same transition to the next protein. Obviously took a fair bit of prep, and in the case of Boris the transition was over a longer period of time. What I listed here though is the norm for transitioning an acute IBD ferret from one protein to the next. It will involve letting all proteins almost thaw completely and then mixing and labelling.

Hi Sherry. I wanted to let you know that we helped Alvin over the Rainbow Bridge today. He was in really bad shape last night when we picked him up and critical care last night and a day at the vets office today didn't offer any relief. He was diagnosed with adrenal about 4 years ago, insulinoma about 18 months ago and lymphoma over the early spring. He was such a fighter but I felt he was ready to meet his long list brothers and sisters. Now I have Farley who is going to need extra attention during this time and a compromise with hubby to allow him to roam one of our family rooms without coming in contact with the baby's gear. Thanks for all of your help with Alvin. Now I can continue working with Farley who can hopefully move on to more solid meats soon.

Hi Sherry. Farley seems to be adjusting after the loss of Alvin. We adopted Farley after being surrendered for what the family claimed was depression after the loss of his cage mate song was worried that he would have a problem after Alvin passed. He never was one to play with humans but he is still doing his regular things when we let him upstairs to play. He is a stubborn eater and he prefers to drink his food than chew. He is having regular stools so I think he is getting enough good although I'm not seeing more than an ounce ir two if good consumption per day. I don't think he has a poultry issue (no loose stools after I've added chicken baby food to jus hare today food). I need to order more Hare today so I may try a small gag if a poultry ground to add a third protein.

Thanks for updating We can now start pushing him if you like. To find if he has any issue with chicken just pick some ground up from the grocery store and start to mix a tiny bit into his normal meal. You will also need to start adding less liquid to his minces until they reach the texture of a bit of a wet ground meat stage. At that point you can start slipping in a few slivers
