Fenton, I'm beginning to wonder if you are special my friend. Haha! I love the narration. Are those just plain goldfish? I bet Walmart has those!

Fenton, I'm beginning to wonder if you are special my friend. Haha! I love the narration. Are those just plain goldfish? I bet Walmart has those! Yep just the feeders they had at Petco! They were 29 cents each. That's pretty cheap entertainment for the weasels ;D ;D ;D Gotta do something to make Fenton like water more! Fiona is already there, I wonder if she's part otter the way she likes water... And yes Fenton is a little "special". For one thing he hoards food. He needs to go on that TV show for hoarders ;D

Please don't buy Walmart fish!!! I don't object at all to feeders being feeders, but every Walmart I've seen fish in their tanks are dirty and the fish are diseased, dead or dying, and their employees don't know anything about fish care and don't care to learn. I know a 30 cent goldfish may not mean anything in the big scheme of things, but I'm all for boycotting Walmart's sale of live animals in the hopes that eventually they'll eventually stop carrying fish. Petco and Petsmart's feeders are usually sickly too (it happens when fish are shipped and overstocked) but they're at least set up to quarantine them in the back if needed and the employees/corporation is a little more educated in proper fish care.
That said, that looks like a lot of fun! I keep fish, and I've thought a lot about setting up another 10 gallon just for breeding feeder guppies for the ferts to have fun with but keep forgetting to get around to it. Go Fenton!

Such cuties. A little warning about fish though. Don't feed them too many. Ferrets generally love fishies. But, it's not so fun when they're puking it up later because they ate too much! Once, I put in enough fish for four ferrets in the bowl and there was one ferret who thought it was all for him. So, he was really sick! And he almost gave his mom a heart attack because he was running around frenetically, his stomach churning louder than any human's I ever heard.

I've considered doing this with my excess guppy population too! Feeders from the store make me a little nervous because of the chemicals that can be used to keep them parasite-free and healthy(ish). And the guppies never quit... When I'm really overstocked, I take some over to the Coral Farm at work, because they always have things like lionfish or anglers that need a live snack. I usually cull before the guppies are a large enough size to really interest a ferret, I think.

Thanks for the heads up about the Walmart fish, I haven't really even looked at the fish at Walmart, I'll wait till I go to Petco and get some there.

Awesome bit of fishing....great job guys ;D ;D ;D Looks like everyone had lots of fun...except maybe the fish ;D Walmart hasn't sold fish here in more than a few years. I have to go to the local pet store to get feeders. Sometimes they look really bad but when they're in good shape I buy them for my albino walking catfish....maybe I will save a couple for the guys and see what happens. The catfish don't need the whole dozen ciao

Had another bit of fishing tonight! This time I took a video:
Funny, I used a bigger dish this time, and Fiona seemed to have a hard time seeing and catching the fish in this larger dish. I kinda felt bad for her! She eventually go the hang of it though!
Fenton on the other hand was a natural ;D

After Fenton caught his fish, you can see that Fiona KNOWS there's a fish in there- she can obviously smell it, but finding it? ;D
