So would you say live fuzzie ASFs and rats are ok? I'm curious cause a guy just contacted me about buying feeder rats alive or frozen. My question is, is any size of rat ok live? I think I'm going with frozen after reading this, but I would like to get some opinions. Any size mouse ok live?

Live mice = okay Live rats (any kind IMO) = no
Rats are nasty and mean and aggressive. Mice are much calmer and don't fight back nearly as much.

Besides rats that are pinkies and have closed eyes still, I'd avoid feeding any rat live.

Alright so this guy is willing to deliver to the town I shop in for free. He said .75 for mouse sized rats, does it really matter on their size for them? Should I start with smaller rats? Does it not really matter? I'm so excited to get some whole prey.

Do they eat mice already? If not, you may want to start with pinkie rats. Even those are near the size of fuzzy mice. But no reason you can't get them and put them in the freezer til they'll eat them

The same rule applies to rats as mice....older is better to get the full nutritional value. When you're first trying to convince them to eat them....use the younger ones. My guys eat full sized adults. I noticed my last batch had some adolescents in package but usually my guys eat adults. ciao
