1. I have read about a natural diet for ferrets in many different places. I do a lot of research on the Internet and have read several books about ferrets. I want to make sure that I do the best I can for my babies.
2. I am unsure as to what type of diet I would like to switch. I think I have my mind on fully switching to a natural diet as I feel that it is better for them by a long shot. But any advice or mentoring along those lines would be greatly appreciated as well. I am not interested in feeding whole prey though.
3. I have read the benefits to feeding your ferrets a raw diet and realized all the essential nutrients that they are missing from just eating kibble. Just as I give my dogs out there the best I want to same thing for my ferrets so that they can live a long and most importantly healthier life than they may lead if continue to eat just kibble.
4. I am more than willing to make this commitment to my ferrets. They are like my children as I have none and I have support and assistance from my wife as well who is commited to helping me.
5. I currently have 5 ferrets. 3 girls and 2 boys. Their names are Miken Easton, Demarini, Salvo, and Mizuno. They are all one to two years old. None of them have health problems now that I am currently aware of. They are not overweight. I fell that they may be a little underweight but I need to re weigh them all. I have had them all since they were babies, about 8-12 weeks old.
6. They currently eat Zupreem food. The one that has no corn in it. They get ferretvitte once or twice a week as well as laxatone. They also love the chicken sticks. I'm not sure of the brand as I am all out. Every once in a while a few of them will eat a tiny bit of chicken baby food as a treat. They have not had soup. I've tried but not had much luck.
7. I haven't fully tried to switch them to a raw diet yet but I have tried to give them chicken and organs before but have not had luck getting them to eat it. They just didn't seem interested at all.
8. I just would like to do the best for my ferrets. They are all amazing and each have their own personality. I am a nurse and I know what can happen when proper nutrients are not received and my ferrets cannot get all the nutrients that they need to lead a healthy life just from Kibble.
9. I have access to a computer or Internet at all times.
