Otis was at the vet this morning just to check in and we checked his BG so I could tell what the difference is btwn my vets meter and mine. Mine was 30 pts lower. She said that's normal bc company's make the meters for humans lower so ppl don't OD on their insulin. Made sense to me. My question is Charlie has been diagnosed with insu and I check his BG weekly. Is it possible to have a ferret jump back up to 100 reading after a diagnosis? I've had some readings come back in the 70's and if I add 30 that would mean his BG was 100? I've also had it as low as in the 40's which would mean 70's.
By the way Otis's BG was 125.

I need to get my meter checked too but yeah I have heard of meters being off by 30 pts. It is possible to get a good reading. Were your readings after a fasting, or after eating? I would say be happy that his levels are higher. It means you are doing something right and he is responding to treatment! Rebels levels were realy low and bounced back to high 80's on Pred and raw.
Also Otis's reading is super good.

Well Charlie really can't fast. He eats every 4 hours but often more than that. I usually measure when he has some sort of episode like pawing at his mouth. 30 points seemed like a large gap but maybe it's not. I would like to know if the readings are even possible. Can they go up that far with insu? He eats carnivore care right now bc he needed to put weight on and get him stable. He has a lot of medical issues. CC has really helped him put weight on. I swear by it now..
Oh wows, that's great go, Rebel! What was his lowest reading? Charlie's was in the 40's.
