so at one of our asian markets i found a 2lbs rabbit for $8. is that a good price? i get that rabbit is a more uncommon meat but that seems expensive to me. it looks like it comes with everything except the fur. they were frozen but im pretty sure i saw a face through the bag.
i looked at the rodentpro site and they seem to cost an arm and a leg! i should just let my dog hunt these things then feed them to the ferrets, they are so common in my yard. joking of course
also how often can pinkie mice be fed? once pay day hits im going to buy a bunch and we will start working towards whole prey

That is pretty typical for store-bought rabbit here in Michigan. I was able to find cheaper rabbit through Craigslist. You can also look up local rabbit breeders (people who breed for show), they will often sell their culls but not all of them are willing to process (skin and gut) so that can be gross  I found a show breeder who is willing to sell me her culls for $2 EACH and they're all about 2-3 pounds. |

Where I live in Canada I would jump for joy if I could find rabbit at that price. Most meats here are around $4/Lb or more...  * |

Check the sight above mjbez, I think they have Canadian Province listings as well. I get rabbit at about 1/2 the cost of retail from my local small producer. |

I took a look and there is nothing very close to me. And a lot of pet rabbits shown, not as many meat rabbits.

True, but many pet rabbit breeders won't sell for meat.

I also couldn't kill a rabbit. I'm really soft hearted. If its dead, its dead. But I can't do it. I'm not even sure I could look at a whole rabbit and feed it. I can barely do it with mice (which my 5 wouldn't touch anyways...)
