Also--when you add slivers make sure you add a bit of extra bone meal/ground egg shells to compensate for the extra muscle meat. That will keep things balanced.

Oh I better freeze some because I made a double batch!
I didn't feed her any egg at all.

Hmm, that is a bit of a weird poop then. Could you type out exactly what's been going into your soup/sliver mixture? And do Mia's poops look the same, or different?

And do you remember what date you started them on soup?

Her poop is more formed this morning so far. Hopefully it keeps going. Where do I get bone meal? Should I add some of that as maybe the egg shells are not enough?? Their poop are about the same. I started the RAW diet approximately 3 weeks ago. I'm anxious for Monday, it's weigh day and BG day! Hoping to see a good improvement.

Bone meal and egg shell are interchangeable, you can do one or the other or both. Whatever works! If you decide to switch to bone meal, you can find it at most health/nutrition stores. You could add a little more egg shell if her poops continue to be soft, but if they keep firming up don't worry about it. Are they still that light browny/yellowy color? How is Mia doing? I feel like Bella is hogging the spotlight! lol

Ok I'll stick with the egg shells for now, maybe increase a little. Her poop is not all jelly like, it's brown now and is forming a little more. Mia is doing great! Except she likes to go after Bella and bite her ears...not sure why she is doing that...she didn't do it at the beginning...wonder if it's jealousy??

That is odd...but a good rule of thumb is that as long as you don't see poop or blood you're okay. Ear grooming is a natural behavior, I wonder if Mia was just taken from her mom and siblings too early to learn proper grooming etiquette. How are their appetites and poops today?

I don't have much background on both girls because they have been passed around quite a bit I think...well this is their last stop. I will make sure they get the care and the home and love they deserve. It's now hard to keep track of Bella's food intake because she is eating from the bowl and I'm not always around to see her eat. When I do see her I weigh it out because I always know what is in the bowl, but with 2 eating from the same dish it's hard to gauge her intake. Bella has gained back 3oz!! She was down to 1.4lbs and today I weighed her and she is back up to 1.7lbs! I'm happy with that! I just want her to keep going up. Another thing I'm finding hard is when I was feeding her by syringe it was easy to have her stomach coated with food before giving her the pred, but now it's hard. Here is a lovely pic of the poop today lol Here is a pic of them a little while ago cuddling Mia is at the front.

They are so darling! A lot of the time (all the time really) I end up hand feeding Remus a snack before his meds. That's been the easiest thing for me to do to make sure his stomach has something in it before the Pred. It doesn't have to be a lot. Have you had a chance to increase the amount of slivers?

Yes I did increase the slivers and I also put some slivers of chicken hearts and liver. They both ate it up. If I want to give them an egg, do I replace on of their meals with it? I'm preparing to take her BG! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there's an improvement!!!

I've done the BG test...I was hoping to see a higher number but it came up at 39.6mg/dl from 21.6mg/dl and her weight is back up to 1.7lbs from 1.4lbs on January 1st. She is also more alert and gets out of her cage more often and has more energy. She is eating about 4 to 5 oz per day.
I will keep checking it weekly.

I think we measure BG differently in the US so I am looking into getting the conversion. It sounds like she is doing much better though! I would love if if you took weekly pictures as well so we can follow her progress ^.^ At this point if you want to feed egg I think you should just mix it in with the soup. Later on you can feed whole egg by itself but it caused loose stools so I think it's best to do egg in the morning and a bone-heavy meal in the evening to balance things out.

I already converted to US standards...our way here in Canada is mmol/L which is 2.2 and in the US you are mg/dl which the conversion is 39.6. I take a lot of photos, but I will take a specific one to show her size. I'll skip the egg for now. Bella ate an egg in the past, the whole egg!! I was shocked! lol Would I get bone meal at a health store? I've looked all over town for Salmon Oil, nobody has it! All they have are capsules! I guess I'll have to order it online! So frustrating!
