While at PetSmart the other day, I found a little bag of kitty treats, which to my delight were single-ingredient. They were teeny tiny, freeze-dried whole shrimp! I offered one to Piper and it was promptly devoured. Is it ok to give them seafood if it's as an occasional treat? How often can a treat like this safely be given?

As long as it has no additives I don't see an issue. I know a couple of mine inhale whole raw shrimp lol

Yes you can feed fish. Not 100% sure about shrimp or other shellfish. Anything you buy at the pet store I'd check to see if it was produced in China. I don't trust ANY pet products produced there due to past incidents.

Fortunately, they're produced in India, and distributed through the US via Arizona. I feel you about the whole "made in China" thing; it's pretty scary.

I want to try to find some! Always on the lookout for single-ingredient treats.

Right? They're few and hard between but so worth it. Try PetSmart in the cat section. You might be able to find them. The brand I found is called "Simply Nourish" or something like that. They're cheap, like $3 per bag of hundred+ tiny shrimp.

My local Petsmart also has single ingredient freeze dried liver in their ferret section! They actually got rid of all the sugary treats (one of the workers used to have a ferret and the store manager approved changing the ferret section up)

I found freeze dried beef liver and my Petsmart actually had freeze dried salmon in the ferret section.

My Roamy loves raw shrimp. All of mine love freeze dried cod and I use it as a foraging treats. Fish makes for smelly poops, but is high in Omega 3's. A fish meal should be only about once a week.
