I'm not a first time owner but these guys would be my first try after owning a few years ago. There are two males and one female. I think I have asked all the appropriate questions in order to know what I am getting into. Food, light schedule, shots, free roam vs cage, litter training etc.
She has not emailed me back and she did say she was not in a hurry to give them up so that works out well for both of us. They come with blankets and a FN 182. She does not know their ages which I can guess at if they have been kibble fed.
I was planning on getting kits so that the switch to raw would be easier and I know they have been healthy and cared for most of their lives. I am a little nervous about adopting adults.
I have watched and read everything I can about adrenal, cancer and insulinoma. I have dealt with the first two but not insulinoma before. I'm willing to do what I can for them. Money shouldn't be an issue with vet support. I have a wonderful vet for my hedgehogs that I will use for my ferrets as well. (She was supportive of my feeding partial raw to my hedgies)
I guess I'm just nervous and looking for support. I'm not even sure she will approve me as a new home for these guys.

I think it's wonderful that you are hoping for these three older fuzzies. It's so easy for babies to find homes. Older ferrets often have a harder time finding homes and I just want them all to find a happy, healthy and forever home.
Older ferrets can be easier. They have already learned their social skills, they are usually litter trained, they're smart and full of personality.
We're use to switching older ferrets, here on the forum. You will find plenty of help. As for their age, once they come home, you can post pictures of their teeth and we can help you age them based on the condition of their teeth. There is a translucency that comes with age and that gives us a good idea of how old they are.
I don't know her reasons for rehoming them, but I'm glad that she is keeping them together. I hope that she gets back to you. Maybe you can mention that she can check in on them thru the Forum and that will give you an excuse to contact her again.
Good Luck, my fingers are crossed for you. (dance)

Hi, I hope it works out. While I don't feed all raw, I've taken in some older ferrets that "would only eat cat chow" or would "only eat dog food" and had them on soups made with raw in a few days with no drama. That's the first step in transitioning to full raw, but we never went the rest of the way due to logistics and finances. Folks here will help you make the switch. It can be done, so don't sweat it.
