I have learned (by reading these forums) that some ferret owners hang their prey/raw meat from shower hooks. Does this REALLY work for picky/confused eaters? Secondly, how do you hang the prey? A mouse for example? Edit: OH MY GOSH! I APOLOGIZE FOR THE "LIVE PREY TYPO" I WOULD NEVER WANT TO DO SUCH A THING! I guess that's what happens when you try to check for typos with out your glasses!

I don't think anyone here hangs live prey from hooks...I really hope not... Hanging whole prey or frankenprey can help animals who aren't quite sure how to rip and tear yet. I've hung mice for my cat before (actually used a shower hook and some twine to make a lure for her, it was fun!), I pushed the hook in one eye and out the other.

I've hung meats to prevent stashing. I use both frankenprey and prey (no not live on the hooks). For the frankenprey I try and hook behind a bone, for the prey often the base of the skull. I too use metal shower hooks. For Radagast he actually has a ladder with toys attached that hang from the top of his cage. I just took the one toy off and hung his meats from a wire for him. He'd been confined to cage and was bored. He had a great time with it ciao
