So I had been giving Remus two mice each day--one in the morning and one in the evening. Today after breakfast he was sniffing around the food level of his cage quite a bit, so I grabbed him a second and he finished it in one sitting. I got out my food scale and found that in order to make his average of 3oz/day he'd have to eat about four mice. Does that seem about average for a male who weighs ~1kg? I feel bad that I've been under feeding him...

smoke weights 3.2 lbs (~1.5kg) and is currently eating 2 rat pups sized 30g (~1oz) each per meal (14 meals a week)
i usually put out a plate of food for the entire family and smoke will eat as many heads as he can snatch and then go back for the rest of it once the head chasing ends.

I think it depends on the size of the mouse. Evanna eats 1 two oz mouse a day, but Marco eats about 2 a day.

4 to 5 adults between my two girls (on the smaller side for jills). Sometimes that lasts a day and a half, sometimes not.

On average my males will eat 2 to 3 mice a day. As you're feeding other proteins as well I wouldn't be too upset. Prey days are just a bit short on the food department. The next day you probably fed a full meal which would make up for your lighter prey day. Having a light day isn't bad for them ciao

Thanks everyone! We've settled into 3 each day, and that seems to be working for him.
