I probably overfeed my ferrets a little, but I like them to be chunky Interesting about the fasting. I may incorporate a fast now and then for my ferts, need to read about it more.

some days Sonny barely touches his food. then the next day he gorges. so i guess he does his own fasting sort of. I don't think i'd have the heart to fast him for a day though! poor guy. he comes running whenever he hears plates tinkering in the kitchen because he's a greedy little pig and he thinks he's getting food. i always tap on his ceramic bowl to let him know that i'm putting his food down and then he comes running like a crazy fool from wherever he is. he can be all the way at the other end of the house destroying something but he'll stop and come running into the kitchen if he hears plates.

You are not overfeeding them. They are kits and need to eat a lot because they are growing. think teenage boy syndrome. ;D They will self regulate, and you will find they eat significantly less as hey get older.
