that's awesome unclejoe! i never thought to take him for rides, will have to ferret proof the car, do you have their leashes short so they don't end up at your feet when using the peddles? don't want to have to worry about anything else if i have to break suddenly, but with a stick that's rarely an issue, though would only do this on a casual spin in the neighborhood but it would be a great experience. my smoke is a pretty calm little thing and only does the excited dookie thing after he eats supper, so no sudden weird jumping.
he was actually pretty good on the highway that one time, i had him clamped between my legs with one hand around his back till we got to a rest stop and used hair ribbons to attach the zippers together on the soft carrier.

You guys are daring with a ferret loose in the car! Haha, I'm not sure I'd ever find Fez again in my car! ... That's probably also my fault, it's very messy... I've only had him in his little plastic crate in the car, and he doesn't seem to notice the drive because he's in there. Maybe I'll have to let him take a few looks out when we do our road trip next week!
