I have had the male away from the females for about 2 weeks now. so I should get a break from babies.
This is getting insane.
I heard they were prolific breeders but this is bordering on Plague-like proportions.
they the older babies are devouring the food and water. I have to fill the food dish every 2 days.
I will get some updated photos up in a couple of days

Just a heads up, please remove that fuzzy bedding. If they chew on it (which lets face it rodents chew everything) it can cause blockages. I know these are only going to be short lived anyway but make their little lives as nice as possible, plus a blockage in a rodent who is going to be fed to your ferret is probably not a good thing.

I have switched to shredded paper towels. The polyfill got stinky too quick anyways. But thanks for the heads up. I did not see any of them chew it, but sometimes animals just do dumb things.

Ok so with the ASF rats proving they are going to produce like crazy. I have decided to build a rat rack. Having 15 babies in that little cage is getting to be too much. they are starting to get larger and that cage is getting way to small. See new thread holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/16690/built-rat-rack-asf-ratsfirst batch of babies 2nd batch of babies 3rd and 4th batch

update: I reintegrated my two tan females with my male without incident on monday, In fact He was verrrrry happy to see them. In a couple more weeks I will reintroduce the darker female back with them. Who knows I may have some thanksgiving babies.
The first batch of babies are becoming really bitey despite my handling them at a younger age.
That just make them easier for me to dispatch. Hard to get attached to un-affectionate little nippers.

YAY! I'm glad they didnt beat him up I think it takes a bit of selective breeding for them to be less nippy. Mine recently started biting me D:

My Surviving tan female is pregnant again. I just reintroduced the dark female back into the group. She my soon be pregnant again.
My first batch of babies are already pretty big. They should be breading soon. I currently have then set up in a 4 1:4 groups.
with the way the first group produced, I could get as many as 250 out of the next batch.
