My question is has anyone tried chicken necks instead of wings for bringing in bone in meals? The meat place has 40 lb of chicken necks for $24 is anyone's ferrets more inrested in necks instead of the wings when starting out. I plan to cut them up into pieces I am just curious.

I use necks....most of my little ones hated wings , so I used necks to teach them to eat bone. Necks are also cheaper and meatier ciao

Mine prefer necks, as well. Mostly ignore the wings.

Sweet! I'll do a few more bone in meals then order some necks. Yay for bulk!

Are chicken necks a good source of calcium? I have heard that chicken necks are not considered as bone-in because they are mostly cartilage and not calcium rich bone. But the bones are harder than chicken wing tips so I don't really know what is right.

I always had to chop necks up to get mine to eat them. Wings I could throw in whole, neck had to be chopped or they were ignored.
