I saw the post that the Marshalls tea tree oil is toxic. What is a good one that smells good and is safe? They only get a bath during shedding season to help with my allergies so maybe twice a year.

A kitten or small animal shampoo or baby shampoo that has no essential oils in it should be fine to use.

I used johnsons small animal shampoo, it was lightly scented, wasn't to lathery and seemed gentle on the ferts skin. Dunno if u can get it in usa though. I am sure others have shampoos they use

If it is just to remove excess fur plain water works just as well

I washed mine when she came home just because she had been kept with her mama and all her siblings. (All kibble fed). I only used water, no shampoo and the smell has gone. She just smells like herself now. I don't think I will ever use shampoo, unless its for medical reasons. I don't for my dog either. And he smells amazing lol. When its shedding season I massage and rinse him with fresh water, wait till he's dry and fluffy then give him a good brush and it works wonders. Especially for my sofa! And rug, and clothes and the fridge, my dinner...it normally gets everywhere!

Mine doesn't smell like a typical ferret, dunno why but she smells like corn tortillas. I don't wash her as much as I used to, in fear that it would agitate her itching, but when I do I use Dr. Bonner's Baby Mild Castile Soap. I like it because it has very few ingredients, which are mostly organic oils.
