oh wow. really? which implant did your vet order? suprelorin? the sales rep from pepetch emailed me on May 5 and advised that they were on backorder and would be available within the next 2-3 months? i just emailed her again The Suprelorin 4.7mg. I was surprised just as you are. Hopefully she will still have some implants, as we won't be ready to do the next group until sometime in June.

Well, we've been super busy here, but I'd thought I'd pop on and do an update since tomorrow marks 4 weeks on the implant. Crichton: At or about week 2, his "marking" everything was noticeably less, although still a bit crazed about it. This week just a little marking, MUCH less than before, so it looks about the normal male "I gotta rub on things if they're there". He continued with his hair loss, however the past few days he has been developing some stubble and you can see the shadow of the darker fur coming in just under the skin. Mr Man: Within a week and a half his energy level skyrocketed - he started acting like the Mr Man we all know and love. He also continued with hair loss, and I noticed particularly early on this week that almost all of the hair was gone (he had some patchy spots on his tail and back legs) and his skin was smooth. However, Wednesday when I picked him up, he was stubbly all over. Thursday he had a yellowish-orange tinge - and stubbly, short fur ALL over his body. Pics to be coming soon.

Yay! Glad to hear about the improvements!
For hair loss, you could try some melatonin in conjunction with the implant. I know several have seen good results with that.

I use melatonin with the implants and yes it appears to help. Gorgeous coats. I'm glad to hear that you're seeing progress with your little ones. ciao

I took some pics tonight but they turned out blurry, go figure. May be able to get some over the weekend when hubby can help hold them for beauty shots.
They both have been on melatonin for 6 months which hasn't helped with the fur loss at all. They are still getting it, so maybe it will work better in conjunction with the des implant.

Are you using melatonin implants? ciao No, we use a bio-available oral liquid (no sugar). Both vets concur and have seen better results with the liquid over the implants. The melatonin, like lupron/des implants, seem to be a "your mileage may vary" situation - what works for some, doesn't work for the others. Out of all the adrenal kids I have, those are the only 2 that the oral isn't working for. I did start them on a Spirulina supplement a few times a week, as I've had good results with that in the past.

I use the oral too. You're getting your administration times right...7 to 9 hrs after sunrise? ciao

Yes, they get it the same time everyone else does, I may need to up their dose a bit, but will wait a couple weeks and see what the new regrowth looks like before doing that.

Good luck. I was surprised as to how fast it came in when it did decide to. Lady "B" took the longest to react but she's suffering from more than just adrenal (I'm afraid from the smell of her that she's probably got some form of cancer or renal failure and this often renders the des and lupron ineffective or less effective) ciao

I"m glad to see that you're starting to get some fur regrowth and progress for your little ones. They're looking really great I find that some health repairs with the des implants take longer. The superficial one of hair or fur growth seems to take almost 2 or 3 months or half way through the implants so-called life span ciao
