I was wondering if anyone could tell me the signs of a partial blockage. I' ve read about full blockages and briefly about partials (did not find too much information about them)... sometimes my ferret has tiny poops. I don't know if that means he has a partial blockage but it happens sometimes. I really only have noticed it twice throughout the months, I will keep a closer look on his poops, for the most part I see him urinate, then find his poops (normal sized and normal form) under my couch (yeah hes a bad boy)

Ferrets are going to have varying sized stools depending on diet. Kibble fed ferrets have the most consistent, large stools, usually the same colour as their kibbles. A partial blockage is often shown by long thin stools, frequent backing into corners but having nothing happen (this doesn't include foxing), lethargy, poor appetite but none of this is consistent. It's one of the things that causes problems. If you suspect a blockage (have found chewed toys, blankets or other items) then use the blockage regime 1 tbsp of pumpkin in the first hour, 1 tsp of vaseline in the next hour and repeat until you've got an orange pumpkin stool. Only pure pumpkin not pie filling *this is not a regime that is used to assist hair issues....an egg yolk is considered a good preventative* ciao

I was just about to say... whats foxing? And thats the thing... he has never chews or eats anything other than his food (which is natures variety) so i think if it was a blockage it would be from hair... but hes not doing too much shedding. The reason i ask is because he has a hacking fit the other night that scared the day lights out of me. He was fine after 5 minutes and has not done it since, but someone said that it was because of a partial blockage. I disagreed with this person but I just wanted to double check.. Thanks! But please do tell what "foxing" is... i' m always expanding my ferret vocabulary.
