So then Fenton and Fionna are separated, as are Finn and Roscoe So all that is left now is poor Finn since Fionna has already been thrown away. Sorry- but this one really bothers me.

Don't forget to call Nancy first when it is Finn's turn. You have a contract with her to return him.

Mikey, I think you should be reconsidering your choices. You know better than to split bonded pairs up, even if they are switched around & everyone is used to each other, bonded pairs are still serious things & should not be so casually broken up to make things easier for yourself.
Personally, I'd place Fiona & Fenton with those people, Finn & Roscoe go to Nancy. Your wife will likely ask you to rehome all them, I've seen this too many times, so you may as well just do it now.

Fiona is coming back, the lady who adopted her is very sick and needs surgery, and tried to switch Fiona back to kibble but Fiona wouldn't eat it. So Finn isn't left alone.
I'm not sure Finn and Rosco were necessarily bonded, they acted more like they tolerated each other. I never saw them groom each other or anything like that.
As for Nancy taking Finn back, who said she wanted to? She has that option in the contract, but only if she wants to. The contract says Finn can be rehomed if Nancy approves of the new home. I don't want to rehome Finn anyway though so it's a moot point.

In other words two bonded groups split and two others to get along. Yes- I KNOW this is harsh. But I also know that YOU know what it means to split bonded pairs.

I'm not sure that I do, I've never seen it become an issue with the ferrets I've had. For example Rosco originally lived with a female named Stella, so they should have been bonded. Then Rosco and Stella came to live with me. Stella passed away and none of the ferrets acted like it had any effect on them at all. It's like they didn't even notice. If Rosco or Fenton gets depressed or something, I'm sure the adopting family will let me know.

I know you have read of ferrets spiraling after several weeks. And I just pray the new owners realize what the issue is and bother contacting you.

I'm also wondering what happens if you rehome two and it doesn't help your wife's allergies as much as you're hoping. Are you going to rehome all of them?

My partner and I are happy to welcome Rosco and Fenton into our home. Lucy, Tiva and Buddy are all excited to have new friends to play with. Your boys were up and down all night, exploring, and they even made sure to eat all the chicken neck and organs we gave them last night. All are happy and playful this morning!

Thank you for letting us know how they are going. We all get attached and even though I am half way round the world and will never meet Fenton, Roscoe or Finn and Fiona I still like to know they are ok

Fiona is back home and Finn is sleeping with her, happy for the company. I'm worried about the lady who adopted her, Bonni. Bonni loves Fiona and is feeding her raw, but she's not doing it right, she said when I picked up Fiona "give her some chicken wings or something, she hasn't had bones for 5 days". I was confused because I explained her diet, I guess she didn't follow it. Bonni is having surgery and the recovery could take weeks, and she isn't sure she'll be capable of caring for them or how much longer she'll live. Also, her other ferret, the rescue she got it from wants to take it back from her, so she might be left with just Fiona alone. The whole reason she wanted Fiona in the first place was so her ferret wouldn't be alone. I'm conflicted, I want to keep Fiona permanently to live with Finn but Bonni says she adores her and can't wait to get her back after she recovers. It's a tough situation, and my wife has backed off a lot since I rehomed Fenton and Rosco.

So Finn would go from having 3 friends to none? That's not fair Mikey. And giving her back to a home that wasn't doing her diet properly, that's just plain dangerous. I would tell her sorry but you tried and it didn't work. She can get another friend for her ferret elsewhere.

Just keep Fiona and Finn. Just tell her you are sorry, but your last boy missed her too much. Tough luck.

People say lots of things but their actions are what you need to look at. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable giving her your ferret. She already isn't feeding her properly, she's sick and may not survive the surgery and has already stated if she does she doesn't know if she'll be able to physically take care of them. So I don't think at this point that this woman would be an appropriate caretaker. Things just seem to be too iffy in her life right now and she really shouldn't be looking for another ferret if she doesn't even know if she can take care of the one that she has. Plus the rescue wants to take back her ferret. It just doesn't make sense. I think Finn will be better off if he has at least one other ferret to live with too.
