I am completely heartbroken writing this As many of you may know I joined here when I ended up with kits far too young to be taken from their mother. It was touch and go but we got through it! They're now around 5 months old and they've done wonderfully, they're so friendly and sweet! Fang loves going out on his harness! Slinky still slips out of her harness so I don't risk it! I got them intending them to be forever pets just like my previous ferrets however I have had a death in the family and I have to pack myself and my son up and leave the country for several months so I have to find a new home for slinky and fang this is not an easy thing for me I don't know what to do with them, I want them to have the best care possible, they're fed on raw but have been known to take kibble.I am in the West Midlands, if anyone can offer them a forever home or know a rescue that has spaces that will take them please let me know!!

Sorry to hear this. Not being in the UK, I have no idea where the midlands are (thought would guess somewhere in the centre). There are a number of Brits on board but I don't know if they are anywhere near you. The ones that spring to mind are crazy lady (think she is in the north), lorelei (heather of Devon County Ferrets, that may give yo an idea where she is) and I think beckie. You could try pming them to see if they know about rescues that may be near you (even if they aren't near you they still may have a better idea than us non-brits
Best of Luck and condolences on your lost family member

Hi, I am indeed in the UK, but I'm in Leeds, Yorkshire. There is a ferret rescue in Huddersfield called Prospect Ferret Rescue, she does have a facebook. Maybe drop her a message and see if she can recommend anyone any nearer?
Good luck, I hope you manage to find somewhere!

Are you possibly coming back? Would you be looking to have someone look after your wee ones for the time that you're away? This has been done before. We've had ferrets placed in foster homes while their ferrants set things up or finished tours of duty and such. That is also a possibility and you could have your little ones back again ciao

I would definitely look at long term fostering if you are coming back within a year.
