Andy and Annie; brother and sister, DMK babies from that shelter nightmare from a few years back some people might remember. This was taken the day after we brought them home at the age of 10 weeks. That is Annie sleeping partially in the litterbox.
PC the cat and Jewel the ferret; what a strange happening this was. Jewel was an old girl that had been tossed by her family, the only family she had ever known and all of a sudden one day they decided they no longer wanted her. A small shelter in KY who knew of me called and asked me to take her. Jewel went into shelter shock almost instantly when we brought her home. I battled this old ferret day and night trying to get her to eat and drink, keeping her alive with force feedings, forcing fluids, trying to convince her to live. One day I was changing the bedding in the ferret cages and one of our cats had gotten into one of the ferret cages, PC the cat loved to lay in the hammies. I had been keeping Jewel with me where ever I was at all times and in a moment of desperation I looked at PC laying in the hammy, looked at Jewel and thought hmmm, what if............ I laid Jewel the ferret in the hammy beside PC the cat and stood by. Knowing PC's gentle nature and saying a silent prayer. PC stirred slightly and then snugged in tighter with Jewel. I don't know what happened at that moment but it somehow made Jewel want to live. I will always be grateful to PC for whatever her heart whispered to Jewel's but whatever it said, it worked.
Libby, a little cinnamon girl, living under a lady's house in Tell City and we gave her home:
Clancy; our babygirl is showing inso symptoms in her older years. We are having good results doing the multiple feedings of duckies (duck soup)
Our beloved SodaFerret we rescued but sadly only lived for 6 days. An infection of some kind that had been let go, he was stuffed into an after hours lock-box at a shelter in KY. The shelter director knew of me and she called asking if we would take him and we said yes. Despite being seen by the vet a number of times, the infection had gone systemic. But the night before Soda totally crashed, he dooked and danced; getting happy feets as we call it. He died 2 days later in my arm, his little face soaked in my tears. Soda touched me in a way very few animals ever had.
Tuffy; I miss her every single day:
Little Mz Pepper, a very tiny little girl, she has the sweetest spirit, lives with 3 other females, her bestest buds Sophie, Libby, and Annie:
Buster and Jewel; these two ferrets were so much in love, spent almost all the waking hours snugging:
Pinkie and unknown victim:
ToneParty for the guys:
StinkyBob, our first ferret, the one who started all the insanity:
