The 2011 Beastmaster Ferret Show will be held July 9, 2011 at the Legacy Events Center in Farmington, Utah. This show is sanctioned by the American Ferret Association (AFA) and is one of only two AFA shows that is held west of the Mississippi River and the only one in this particular region of the country. Proceeds from the show will go to Essential Ferret Services of Idaho, a 501c3 federal non-profit no-kill ferret shelter lo...cated in southern Idaho.
This show is sanctioned by the American Ferret Association and will have 4 Championship Title Rings, 14 Specialty Rings, and 1 Premier Class.
Championship Title Rings are as follows: Adolescent, Alter, Breeder, and Companion. If a ferret is entered in one of those rings, it will be judged by 3 different AFA judges and given scores by each judge. The top 10 ferrets in each judge's ring will be given a ribbon and the top placing ferret in each of those rings will win a trophy. The ferret that has the top overall score will win a Best in Class ribbon and trophy and an award will also be given for Best in Opposite.
Specialty Rings are as follows: Albino/DEW, Black Mitt/Black Roan Mitt, Black Sable, Blaze/Panda/Mutt, Champagne, Chocolate, Mitt, Passport Required, Physically Challenged, Point, Roan, Sable, Shelter/Rescue, and Super Senior. If a ferret is entered in any of these rings, it will be judged against other ferrets in that ring. All ferrets entered in these rings will be awarded a ribbon and there is a trophy awarded to the top placing ferret in each ring. And in these rings you can enter a ferret in as many rings as it qualifies for. Often times people will have a ferret that competes in a color ring as well as shelter/rescue and if the ferret meets the age requirements it could also compete in super senior.
This show also will feature a Premier Class called the Invitational Class and it is open to ferrets that have placed 1st in any Title Ring at a past show.
The show also will feature raffles and silent auctions held throughout the day, so you can win a lot of great stuff and help out a great cause in the process. There also will be various fun events held throughout the day for the ferrets, such as paper bag breakout, tube run, costume contest, etc. There will be several ferret shelters, private ferret breeders, and vendors attending the show as well, so its a great way to meet people in the regional ferret community.
The entry deadline for the show is June 11, 2011, no entries will be allowed after that date. There is an early entry deadline of May 15, 2011, so those who get their entries in before that date will save some money on ring fees.
