Well the salt we put on our food is processed and any salt in the blood is minimal and all natural. Like how fruit sugars are better than refined white sugar for us. I also doubt ferrets need to watch their cholesterol so they'd be good.

The types of salt that naturally occur in the blood stream actually serve to help keep the body hydrated (electrolytes), the type of processed salt that you use in your food is actually damaging to hydration (as well as parts of the body). There is also much less salt in the blood stream than one might actually think seeing as most of the 'salty' taste in blood comes from iron. When someone gets high cholesterol, it actually has very little to do with salt. High Cholesterol occurs when someone eats too much animal fat, humans are only built to use a certain amount of animal fat- the rest builds up and becomes harmful. Ferrets on the other hand, are designed to use MUCH more animal fat so they arent really at risk for high cholesterol at all, actually.
I'm a phlebotomist (blood drawer to put it simply and in the least disgusting way) in a medical office, I draw blood and get it ready to be sent out for testing. Not only do I have to know a thing or two about blood but I hear the doc talking to patients about their cholesterol all the time, lol.
