hey there my 1 year hob ferret hasnt lost his fur for the summer??....no signs of moulting or hair around the house or in his bedding etc...ive attached a few pictures of him below so you can see his colouring and what he looks like is this normal to not lose hair or maybe does he have semi, half or full angora in him?? i looked into angora breeds and cant quite understand the tell tale signs but i dont think he seems to have the type of nose they have?? (excuse the pictures they were snapped quickly!) many thanks

My three seem to have their seasons mixed up and have recently developed beautiful, thick, luxurious coats...for summer. *sigh* One was born in about October, one in November, and one in February.

Your ferret is big and gorgeous. My oldest girl, Juliet has her seasons mixed up. I'm guessing from your big boy, you are not in The States and he isn't fixed? I don't know how that affects their seasons, most likely, one of our other members will know and comment.

Intact ferrets don't shed off like alters. My boys shed off around July or so. Don't worry about it. When he does shed you will be horrified lol. He has a normal coat for an intact male ferret. Depending on where you are, chances are that he's not an angora mix....you don't want to really go there anyways ciao

Also lighting can play a part in when they think it's time to switch seasons.
I am in Aus and so heading into Winter. My guys are desexed but I will note that different ferrets also shed at slightly different times. Sumo wintered up first closely followed by Jester, Rocket is only just now beginning to do it. All 3 are obviously in the same lighting but still have variations for their timing on exactly when the shed should be.
Hope this helps, your boy is a beaut

I am no help with your question but wanted to say he is a handsome chap. Seems so chilled being held and a lovely face. I am very jealous!
