I have 4 ferrets.......Ricky and Koko, almost 2 years old, and now Pebbles and Bam Bam, 9 weeks old. Currently they are all eating raw grind........Bravo Turkey mixed with Stella and Chewy's Duck Duck Goose, and Bravo Turkey mixed with Stella and Chewy's Venison. Everything has to have the Bravo Turkey in it, otherwise my older ones won't touch it. The Stella and Chewy's Lamb and Rabbit aren't going over so well (and I don't like that the Rabbit doesn't haven't a high ratio of actual rabbit). I haven't been able to get the Bravo Rabbit for almost two months now, because it's been on back order. The babies have taken easily to the raw grind, and even LOVE the bone in meat of steak and chicken wings that I have given them, but I'm pulling back on the chicken because I'm seeing diarrhea again (Koko had diarrhea after switching them to raw and it took over a month to figure out it was from the Bravo Chicken grind that was causing it). Tomorrow morning I have some rabbit ribs that I will putting out for them (as well as the usual grind), and we will see how that goes. But, they need the organ too, so I need a mentor.
I plan on buying my meats and organs from hare-today.com/, with lots of choices of meats. I don't know if I actually want to feed them WHOLE animals, because I love animals so much that I don't want to see a baby mouse or rabbit in it's natural form being eaten (I know that probably sounds stupid). But I adore my ferrets and still want the best for them.
Here are my ferrets:
Ricky - 2 years old, been on raw grind since July 2013
Koko - 2 years old, been on raw grind since July 2013
Pebbles - 9 weeks old, raw for 5 days
Bam Bam - 9 weeks old, raw for 5 days
