One of my ferrets pees next to the litter box pretty often. Even though I clean their cage every day recently a white stain seems to be in the floor of the cage. I clean their cage with half & half water and vinegar and I've tried scrubbing that spot up and it won't go. I've even used a little cleaning toothbrush to try to remove it but it hasn't worked. It looks like it's in the little crevices of my ferret nation floor. Any ideas in how to get it up?

Make a paste out of baking soda with a little water and scrub the tray with it really well, then let it soak like that overnight. You can pour a little vinegar on it to soak too, but DO NOT INHALE it and make sure it is somewhere very well ventilated (open a window). Vinegar plus baking soda will release hydrogen gas which is very dangerous to inhale.

Good advice from hurricanekatt ^ I would also suggest placing something down on the floor in front of or around the litter pan (wherever she is going potty). For my ferret, because the rest of his cage and sleeping area have fleece floors, he doesn't miss the litter pan if I put fleece on the floor under and in front of it - he doesn't want to get it messy, I think. Doing that will help absorb your mess if there is one, and keep from staining or sticking to the floor of the cage, and can be washed or changed out as needed to save you some trouble.

I have an issue with my female going in the corner of my room. She does it immediately after she gets out..............every single time. I use puppy pee pads and when she missed, I use some Shout on my carpet. Good Luck

Thanks! I will certainly try that out. Ill just take it in my back yard and do it. I've noticed that the blanket thing is really true my only issue is that my ferrets are very insistant on getting under them and moving them around. They somehow get under the side where you slide it on the pan. I think I will still try putting some old blankies down and hope it helps out more. I am going to finish making the floor covers though because Parker's scratching will be what makes me go crazy lol

The "Under" game is a favorite with my Juliet, and if there is a blanket or towel, everyone wants to play "Under". Maybe instead of old blankies, try something a little less Fun.

With the "boot camp" something I found worked better was to literally cram in a LOT of bedding so there were no smooth, flat areas.
