Fiddler has decided that cardboard boxes serve as nothing more than chew things. He chews the corners-I mean, how dare they be so square!! I don't understand this at all-the others just like to play in the boxes, and once, so did he before he figured out that box points are so delicious. It doesn't matter what is in the box-he just wants to chew it. Does anyone else have a strange little box chewer?

I have a couch corner chewer. I sprayed bitter tuck on it and it didn't do any good.

No corners chewers here. Maybe you could kind of bash in the corners so they don't poke out quite so much? Don't know if that would help, but might be worth a shot. If he can't get hold as readily, maybe he'll leave them alone.

I'll try bashing in the corners-maybe he just loves the pointiness of it or something. lol. Oh no-Ours haven't been around couches much; the living room has always been blocked off. I'll have to watch out for that. Fiddler usually doesn't chew stuff, but he has his tried and true favorites: box corners and wiccar

I had a boy, Ghenghis, who loved to chew cardboard...he didn't eat it. Just loved the way his teeth went through the cardboard. I'd find boxes with little teeth marks in them, but it wasn't the corners and he never actually shredded them...just these teeth marks. Rather like writing on a wall "I was here" ciao

I have a box spring corner chewer (my bed sits on the floor - no frame, just the box spring and mattress) Dex has chewed/scratched up one of the corners of my box spring so bad, I had to duct tape it up and re-arrange my room to get that corner of the bed into a corner of the wall.. Now I've got a fitted sheet on top of the box spring to protect it, but he's figuring out that he can claw at it enough and pull the sheet off the corners

I have cardboard boxes in all the cages for sleeping dens, and they also use them to stash any leftovers...under the bedding, naturally. They last maybe 3-4 weeks, if I'm lucky, because they all like to tear off any loose pieces. By the time I pitch them, they always have puncture marks all around the square opening, as well. It apparently entertains the ones who are waiting their turn to come out and play.

I have a mattress scratcher and one who 'must leave teeth marks in everything'.
May have to follow Katirhi and put a fitted sheet on my box spring as well! Or just give up and sleep on a pile of blankets like a ferret.

Pooka loves to chew cardboard. I really don't understand it. It scares the crap outta me though. He will bite off a corner and stash it.
:/
he doesn't get cardboard anymore. I'm afraid he might get bored and eat it.

I had a ferret that LOVED drink cups from fast food places. I would sit on the floor and play with the ferrets and here he comes after my drink chomp and it wAS TUG OF WAR. One time he bit the cup at the bottom - pop everywhere.
