I'm not a cage expert, mine are free roam. I do think that it's alot of money for a pre-owned cage. Wider is better than taller, and you want room for a litter box. Also, picture yourself reaching in to clean the cage. Even with a litter box, they will make messes and you will have to clean those up. I've never seen a triangle cage. I wonder if it is designed for ferrets or something else?
Most ferrants here, seem to really like the Ferret Nations. Keep an eye out for those. A brand new Double Ferret Nation at Petco, retails for $200 and a single Ferret Nation retails for $139. So, that does seem like, they are asking too much.

I would hold out for a FN. I paid less than $150 for mine brand new, including shipping.
The one in the ad doesn't look very accessible for cleaning, etc. You REALLY need to be able to get in easily to change bedding, clean up messes, etc.

(disagree) Don't do it! I've dealt with this sort before. It's this: www.amazon.com/Prevue-Hendryx-490-Products-Hammertone/dp/B001W8TZ8W Notice that the reviews like it for chinchillas and rats, not for ferrets. Prevue also makes birdcages, and that's what this is, just with different doors. The doors are wayyy too small. The shelves are narrow and slippery and they don't latch to the bars -- they'll fall the first time a ferret jumps. I'm not seeing the ramps in the craigslist post but if they're included they'll also need to be covered. They're like slides. If the ferret doesn't enjoy using a corner litter box, and most ferrets don't, you're out of luck. A decent box won't fit through the doors and even if it did, where would it go? I completely understand you wanting a cage that looks good, but there are ways to make a much more useful cage look attractive, like coordinating bedding/dishes/covers. That one's looks will not make up for how completely impractical it is for a ferret. (Besides, I think that curtain behind it is making look nicer than it actually is. Circular patterns on the actual wire would be pretty great.) Get a Ferret Nation. (nod)

If you are going to stick with ferrets as pets for years to come you will undoubtedly settle on a ferret nation anyways and you will wonder why you bothered with all those other cages.
However We all know that for some of us Money is tight so if you need to settle for less of a cage because you cannot afford a FN, we understand. But if you are going to be spending the same money as a FN. Just skip the wasted money that some of us here spent on other cages and get a FN. You will not regret it and your Fuzzy wont either.

Well, and the benefit of the FN cages is that you can add on. So if you want to keep costs down initially, buy a single story and then get add ons as needed when ferret math occurs. Honestly, the one you posted would scare me with ferts OR rats, because it's a long fall from the top if someone loses their balance.

I was worried about the height too. And okay guys thanks. Evanna has a small cage now, but I definitely want to get her a nice big one by the time I move into my apartment. I also feel like I should get a double since I'm already think about getting her a friend >.> ferret math...

2 ferrets can live happily in a single level as long as they get their daily time out of the cage.
Of course they will never complain about having more space.
