Is that meal plan weekly or monthly?

That seems like a lot of food. Is that plan for just raw and no kibbles at all? And how many oz for muscle meats and consumable

That's a weekly meal plan. And yes, it's for just raw. The idea with a raw diet is to get them entirely off the kibble for their health The average for females is approx 2-4oz per day, and males 3-5oz per day. This varies depending on age, activity level, health, and season.

This may sound like a dumb question (shy) but... if you are starting the soup switch, wouldn't the meal plan just be the soup? Until they start accepting chucks and such?

Yes, most do start out on the soup recipe And no- it is NOT a dumb question at all! No such thing as a dumb question.

In one form or another the soup recipe contains everything in the meal plan. The soup is only a transitional stage however as you want them eventually chewing on meat and bones for their dental hygiene and to build up the muscle strength in their jaws (it's also great stimulation for them to chew).

bitbyter: That makes sense. (shy) I am very excited to just switch to bones and chunks, Ziva and Jane already enjoy those...it's just Lucy and Izzy whom are so reluctant to change, I am hoping the soup for them will get them to like the liver a bit more if they are eating it in soup form. They HATE liver. Cant blame them though, not the most pleasant organ

I created freeze dried shake and no bake when fresh liver was causing Wilma problems. Basically I just ground up freeze dried liver treats from the pet store and then coated their meat chunks in it like shake and bake.

I have a question. When Jaclynn said Cuttle bone for birds, does that mean I could buy a cuttle bone and offer it to roamy and juliet? I'm in studying mode, and will soon apply for a mentor. I did offer R and J soupies and breaded chicken ala sherry, they both are interested and stashed a few pieces. And Juliet ate a piece of gizzard tonite.

Definitely you can use the cuttle bone. However you do still need to powder it so it can be absorbed.

Do you have any butchers in your area? Any heart will do. Beef, pork, lamb, turkey. I don't know if this is feasible for you, but you can also order online. Otherwise, you will really need a taurine supplement, and be feeding mainly darker meats. The more a muscle is used, the more taurine develops in it. Which is why hearts are ideal. Heart is something i think i'm really going to stuggle finding. My local butcher is utterly useless - they consider themselves 'high class' and don't even sell chicken wings and try to sell me cut offs whenever i go in and enquire about anything ¬_¬ Do you have any links for ordering online? I live in the uk, if not i'll have to try scouting a wider circle of butchers

On my phone right now, but go to diet board-> raw and whole prey providers-> UK suppliers. It might be on the second page but it's there.
