There's been no more torn wallpaper (so far) but as the little hellions grow they find new things to keep them busy. I thought I had made sure they couldn't get onto the tables in the ferret room (from the tables they can get onto the windowsill). But Aska found a way! After three days I finally discovered how she does it. She jumps up on the radiator underneath the window, and from their she jumps onto the tables. Now I've installed PVC sheets on both sides of the window sill, and so far, no more Aska wrecking the flowers! Hah! I win again! (Until they come up with something new :

Nice thinking! With these kids, you gotta be twice as clever as they are (and they are pretty darn clever!)

Ahhhh, when it comes to fresh soil and potted plants, ferrets have a limitless imagination. Good luck ;D ciao

She soon made it back up on the tables again... She now simply jumps up directly off the floor, and the jumping ability is escalating by the minute... I just watched her do a 2.70 m long jump from the table to the slightly lower nest box on the floor totally effortless. I put all the flowers and stuff on a shelf up by the ceiling. It took seconds... and she was up there and tore everything apart. She seriously had to grow wings to get up there! I realize now how pathetically inadequate my clever little PVC boards are I've given up and removed the destroyed plants and the other stuff from the room and given her the entire space

I just hope she never figures out there's a closet space in the room. I never open that closet while they are in there, because all it takes is that they see you do it once...

Oh, once they figure out that door leads to "Narnia" they're on them. My guys are terrible. All doors lead to somewhere and that somewhere has to be better than where they are now What's really funny is to open a door (like to my husband closet (I think he's OCD ) and there's nothing there....and they look at me as though to say well....what happened, I can't do anything here and off they go to another door ;D ;D ciao

My closets are like ferret heaven I'm afraid Come to think of it, maybe I'd better install a lock on the one in the ferret room. Then I could use it to store away the things I had to remove from the tables. It's cleaning stuff and other things that are good to have handy. Things are happening out in the enclosure as well. I have a door between the inner and the outer enclosure, and sometimes I confine the ferrets to the inner enclosure. A couple of nights ago I closed the door but forgot to lock it and Larven got back out to the outer area. He's been trying ever since to go through that door again if he's confined to the inner area. He's chewing away at the wood like a little beaver. I'm really surprised how easily he can chew away chunks from that hard wood. Not good for the teeth and dangerous if he were to ingest any splints. I reinforced the wood frame with a very strong wire mesh, which he went through like nothing and started at the wood again. Now I've put up metal bars and also changed the evening routine so that he's not so focused on the door. He seems to have lost interest (for now). Never a dull moment.

I'm glad that you managed to redirect his interest. Sometimes they can be so determined. It is amazing as to how much damage they can do if they set their minds to something ciao
