It looks like they did a good job on amputating it. But, poor baby! I'm glad her surgery went well and that she's doing well too. <3 I hope she has a speedy but effective healing process

Under ferret health and medical pictures, under Chordoma that is my ferret Skunkers. He had a huge Chordoma on the tip of his tail back in October 2009, Surgery went well with him. Took a while for the hair to grow back on the tail and it looked funny for a while. I see your vet did not shave the whole tail. The vet that did mine shaved the whole thing lol. Now he just looks like he has half a tail. Its actually kinda cute and no one ever notices it or says anything about it. Good to see your little one made it threw without any problems.

She didn't get the full anesthesia treatment as they would have done for doing an internal surgery, they just gassed her and the surgery was quick. She was up and about in no time, with little to no groginess. When we took her home that evening, she was bouncing around (no doubt the pain meds were helping) and climbed one of the chairs in the living room.
It's been a week and she is still housed separately from her playgroup, but I did move one of the gentler ferrets in with her the other day. And Saturday we let her out with her normal playgroup for exercise. She is doing quite well, but is getting used to her special extra time out of the cage in the mornings separate from her playgroup. In fact, she demands it now. LOL
I will post pics after the stitches are removed next week.

I"m glad that she's progressing so well. It's nice when vets understand that ferrets don't do anesthetic well and use a minimalistic approach when using it. ciao
