Thanks so much! I got him when he was six months at petco... So whenever they fix their ferrets is when he was fixed. (whenever that was it was too early in my opinion) Since I've had him he's simply been fed a mix of ultimate ferret 8-1 and evo... (planing on changing this of coarse) I really don't know how he got so huge he's just a freak of nature. I'll have to find my camera and get some recent pics of my fatty. Of coarse its spring time now and his winter weight is shedding off And your soco is just adorable! But then, what fuzzy isn't?

Does your big guy have one or more blue dots tattoed on his ear? Marshall usually marks their ferrets this way. My ferrets are both Marshall ferrets from Petco. If yours is a Marshall ferret then that gives me hope that maybe my boy can get big too if fed a healthy diet At least, 8 in 1 Ultimate and Evo are about as good as you can get with kibble right?

Yeah he's a marshall. And evo is good kibble. He's just a pain in my toosh and won't eat the evo unless there is the other brand with it. He will even go on hunger strikes... Haha I'm sure he is going to be just as big of a pain when switching to raw But I'm pretty determined to get him on a better diet. Little stinker has had his way far too long! It's MY turn to go on strike.

Does he eat any sort of soupie? It's always a good idea to have them accepting of that for when they become ill.

Well so far he will eat some ground beef with water, mixed in with his evo and some turkey baby food. i don't really know where to go from there.. And that's where this whole thing started, he got a hairball... So he wasn't eating. Lost about a pound and a half wouldn't drink. It was horrible because i was looking for a new vet who worked more often with ferrets, and they were closed when it was happening. So i was online all day just discovering new things. (it's insane how bad the pet stores can be) so that night he started getting pumpkin and turkey/chicken baby food mixed with water and pedialyte for infants. Worst night ever. When I got to the vets they mentioned raw feeding but didn't dwell. I got home and looked it up and decided it would be a good idea. Since joining this site I've tried a bit of that ground beef a few different ways and right now that is how he likes it. Like I said i just don't really know where to go from here..
