Hello, My name is Shawnie, I'm 20 years old, I work at Subway, and I'm madly in love with Pooka --- my two year old ferret. Pooka is a big boy. He weighs 4 1/2 lbs. (on a kibble diet) He is the sweetest little thing I have ever met. He LOVES to be around me and my boyfriend Zak. He cuddles up with us every chance he can get.  I came across this site looking for a more healthy lifestyle for my baby. We've recently had a not so fun trip to the vet for hairballs. And it, of coarse, scared me to death. I've since been feeding him small doses of pumpkin and we switched his food to evo... But I'm looking for something even better. I'm so excited to have come across this site. It looks very helpful, inspirational, and fun! ;D I'm looking forward to learning everything I can about ferrets ( and to meeting all the wonderful people here as well!)    |

He doesn't look it in his pictures, but holy cow! 4 1/2 lbs? All my guys are tiny, some don't even tip the 2 lbs mark. Just a lot more to love!!

Well thank you so much!!! I'm very excited to soak up as much info as my little brain can handle. And actually being able to have conversations about the little weasels, everybody else looks like they're planning their escape when I start blabbing on about how funny Pooka is, and what his poop looks like, and if I should feed him chicks? or rats? or... you get the point.  And yeah he's a tank! These pictures are all about a year old. I haven't been able to get any recent pics of my baby, (lost my camera when I moved) so he probably didn't weigh that much then... I took him to the vets and that's the first thing she said "Wow he's a big boy" |

Hello and welcome! This place is FULL of brilliant people who are very knowledgable. If you're interested in a better diet, you can sign up for the mentoring program (in the nutritional section) and a mentor will help you one on one to switch to a better diet  Ask question, join in, and have a great time! Please feel free to prowl, read threads, ask questions and participate in discussions....most of all have fun sharing information about the little ones. Everyone's friendly and more than happy to jump into helping another out. You may want to pay particular attention to the diet information section. Your Pooka is adorable and the direct opposite to my little Pooka...she was just a wee little thing, a tiny little old lady who had an idea about just what she wanted and how to get it ;D I will also warn you that they're heavily into the whole pictures thing so be prepared to be pestered for pics of your fuzz.

Wow he's big! Where did you get him? What age was he fixed at, or is he fixed? What are you feeding him?

 I think my best friend has Pooka's twin in her business.... its really freaky cuuuz yall have the same hair color and practically the same hair cut too.. lol. Im Bella nice to meet you. I have three fuzzbutt kids; Kahlua who is 3-4, sabley girl in my sig (adopted), Mojito who is 5-6 hes white but has marks.. not a marked dew because hes got red eyes.. im thinking he was a roan who 'roaned out' lol(adopted) and our very first kit is Southern Comfort aka Baby SoCo. He is a champagn-y color that sort of fades into silver over most of his body. Almost always shows up silver in pics. He just turned 4 months old on the 12th of this month, hes our little fatty. In my sig pic he was only 11 weeks old. And of course I mention my beloved Chihuahua Tequila quite often, he is 5 yrs old buut you wouldnt know it if you met him. I hope you enjoy this place as much as we have, we have made good friends and learned a lot. Its a great place for people who truely love their fuzzbutts.
