Hello, My name is Jessica, I currently own one little boy named Jude as of yesterday =D Years ago I had two boys, one passed over to the rainbow bridge, the other is bonded with my brothers ferret when I moved home for a few months. I didn't have the heart to separate him so he lives there now. Yesterday I picked up a little 11 week old boy from a Craigslist ad. I'm going shopping today in town so I needed to find a quick and easy duck soup recipe to start introducing some hearts and parts to him while he's still young enough to convince. Here are a few pics of Jude, enjoy! and my daughter sharing her favorite toy with Jude. The fluff is only temporary till I found some receiving blankets for him.

Thanks! I think I'll go pick up some gizzards and hearts and stuff and see if I can get him to eat it raw without soup. That would be a big step!

Hi and welcome on board. Got to love baby ferrets I'm sorry that you lost your little one to the "journey"...there have been so many little ones who have travelled this year. I'm glad that Jude has come into your life Here's my soupy recipe...it's easy and you can find the ingredients anywhere and you can exchange the chicken for any protein. I often encorporate a tiny bit of pumpkin into the soupy just to offer some roughage which this recipe doesn't have. It also helps to keep the stools a bit more solid too (raw poops are usually a bit looser anyway) You can try to get them to eat a raw soup immediately. You will need a blender/food processor, and the following raw items: 8 oz raw chicken thigh meat (including skin and fat) 1/2 tsp of crushed eggshell powder (take a raw eggshell. Rinse it out. Let it dry. Crush to powder) 1 raw chicken heart 1/2 raw chicken liver Water or broth(use more to make it soupier, less to make it thicker) Blend ingredients together. Some prefer it at room temp. Try putting a dollop of "soup" onto your ferret's nose and they probably will lick it off. I use my finger. Sometimes this takes a little bit trying to convince them that you're not trying to poison them I find within a very short time they're licking this off my finger. When I see that they're willing to eat freely off my finger then I use a small spoon to try and get them to eat from that. Try to get them eating the soupy on their own. It might pique their interest. I hope you enjoy yourself here, everyone's friendly and more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Oh, and pictures are always appreciated ciao

I have tons of pictures and I've barely had him 24 hours I even have four or so videos Thanks for the recipe, I will have to look into this. I live in a tiny town, it has roughly the population of 1000, so therefor I only go shopping every so often and today was the day. I didn't grab any chicken thighs, I just have some beef, chicken breasts, and some sausage. None of which I think will work but if you think I need more pics, be prepared for cute overload. Ohh my husband just called, he's picking up some chicken thighs on his way home, guess Jude is in luck. I don't have a blender currently as I was living with my MIL and left it there for her, but I do have a small food processor that works just fine, did I mention I didn't pay for it? Courtesy of Dave and Buster's rewards. I had 3-4 thousands of tickets and traded it in for a food processor, who knew what use those darn tickets would be.

We LOVE pictures, especially of babies (and those as cute as Jude ) He should take to the soup easily since he's so young. Wow, what a great prize
