Thats all I know, I have to go to work tonight, but they just called and said he came through the surgery. He's still got a long way to go, they have still not been able to get him properly hydrated in the last 48hrs. SO that is still a major concern. He's at least on IV now cause he's sedated and cant pull it out again. The Brat had a whole ear plug in there! so thats TWO that he ate. If i wasn't so relieved I would choke him! I'm going to call her again on my break tonight.

Ohhhh, breathes a partial sigh of relief. Candle is still burning brightly. Fingers are still crossed. I can't believe that he had a whole earbud in that little tummy. Oh, what indigestion....silly little sod. ciao

Yeah Neka!! He's a tough little guy. Well that explains why he was in so much pain. That earplug foam expands. I hate earplugs.

Okay i talk to the vet on my break. She`s very blunt/honest in her estimates what we have to deal with to get him better, and i truly appreciate that honesty. He's doing alright, they got lots of IV fluids into him until he woke and took the iv out. He's on lots of pain meds and two antibiotics. They will be leaving water for him, and will check at midnight and might do subQ fluid then if needed. She said a few things that are still concerning to her 1) the reason he stayed dehydrated was all the fluids they gave him got dumped into his stomach and not absorbed. She is not sure why this happened, and why he did not throw it up. It did result in his stomach becoming extremely distended. She is worried about his stomach not working right after such a stretch. 2) the plug had started to make it's way out of the stomach when it got stuck. It was in a little narrow tube, which they had to cut and stitch back up... making it even narrower... the concern is if he'll be able to pass food through this effectively. She said the next few days he needs to start eating and digesting on his own. I'm not sure when he'll be home yet, most likely thursday at the earliest. I'm still scared, but the tears have stopped. I feel that at least we got to the cause. Hoping now that his constitution is strong enough to recover from all this. Bodies are amazing things.. and I believe in miracles. Thanks for sitting on pins and needles with me. It helps to have people there who listen and understand the worry/terror of the situation.
